Thank goodness you can see your doctor tomorrow morning, Lis! If Florida runs out, start on the orange juice from California.

Happy birthday to TimeZone, and congratulations to Robbie for creating such a roaring success. And congratulations to all of you who were there with Robbie in the boards preceding TZ, and have come with her here.

Thanks for telling the rest of us about the glorious history of our board, going back to before it was born.

And congratulations to you, Cooter, for acquiring a good keyboard. May you never stop typing on it.

Lis, see if you can find some cough drops called "Fisherman's Friend". Those things are worth gold. They don't taste very good, but they work!

I am really enjoying the new keyboard. It's a little different the way the keys are and I think that once I get used to them this might be my best keyboard ever.

This morning when I came back from buying a keyboard the first time I didn't see Shadow out to greet me and said "Where's my cat?". Back from the corner came a Mrrooorrrw as she climbed over the hearth of the fireplace.

She purred to hard and loud this morning in our usual floor season. She was a happy girl!

[sign in to see URL] sweet! She was happy to see Dad home. emoticon Thanks for the advice about Fisherman's Friend, Cooter. I've seen it on the store shelves before, but I've never tried it.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I'm exhausted, so I'm napping off and on. It helps me be less exhausted, but the coughing keeps waking me up. Hopefully I can get a prescription for some strong stuff from the doctor tomorrow.

Re: The Rumpus Room II

Morning, Rumpions:

60 and mostly cloudy, so only a few stars were able to see me as I walked around the house this morning.

Yesterday my audiologist adjusted my new Widexes. I went in discouraged. She called the Widex people and told them my problem, and they told her how to adjust the compression so that increasing the volume didn't blast my head off. She did that, and on the way home I was able to hear the grocery checker and the postal clerk. At home I was able to hear most of what Ari Melber said. He speaks so rapidly that I have been having to read the captions in order to understand him; but yesterday I got most of it.

Tanya, give everyone the latte or cappuccino or espresso of their choice, on me. Some of them may prefer coffee.

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 79 headed for 92 with warnings which is better than 96 and high humidity.

I think that Janet and DD will be in town today and we may get to do lunch. I was going to shave and wash my hair [sign in to see URL]. Moving around isn't the best this morning, but the day is young.

My legs have improved some the last day or two and I hope that continues. I have a couple of projects that I want to work on and that requires me to be on my feet a bit.

I'm beginning to think about football a little. It's still baseball season and I'm a dedicated St. Louis fan. It's a dog fight in the NL Central, which was the only race going until Cleveland caught up with Minnesota which took some time.

I am paying a fair bit of attention to the pre-season in the NFL to see how a few Ole Miss boys pan out.

Good morning, all. We have 58F under patchy clouds, heading for 79F. (Why don't they just say 80?) I sat out on the patio a bit this morning as Jackson tried to convince a squirrel to come down out of the cedar tree. The squirrel wasn't buying it.

Belle, what great news about your Widexes! I hope you continue to have improved hearing.

Cooter, I hope you have a fun lunch with Janet and DD.

Tanya, double venti, extra hot, two Splenda, normal foam, please.

Thanks, Belle!

Belle, I'm so glad that you were able to get an improvement in your hearing! emoticon

Sounds like Jackson was enjoying the "hunt", Robbie.

Cooter, I hope you'll enjoy your lunch.

I'm up WAY early for me.... Got in to the doctor at 9:15. (Seriously? People are actually working in the morning? *G*

It's severe bronchitis. Joy. She's calling in antibiotics, and she gave me an inhaler for the worst coughing jags. Cancelled out of everything I had to go to yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I only have Mom's hair appointment Friday, so we'll see how it goes. I'm just exhausted. Picked up oatmeal, a hash brown, and a blueberry muffin topper from McDonald's for breakfast. As soon as I'm done with them, I'm heading back to bed....

Lis, I'm so happy for you! Bronchitis terrible, but it's curable. I'm glad you're going to bed, but I hope you take your laptop with you, so you can give us updates about your dreams.

Peter, don't despair. There's more fun where that came from!

That is a really good picture of some of us. I wonder why the others aren't in it. I'll bet that's one of us being chased by a policeman.

Here's hoping that Lis gets well soon.

I'm not sure when Janet and DD are coming down, and I don't think they are [sign in to see URL]. I talked to Janet while I was fixing lunch and she said that she was catching up on coffee and DD was [sign in to see URL].

I'm not surprised that you heard Shadow, Belle. She's gotten to be a real purr box! I also have started to get more leg rubs. I like leg rubs, so I hope she keeps it up.

Belle, Janet was talking about hearing and hearing aids, although she doesn't need one now, and I told her about you and how happy we were that you came over.

My legs are some better so I've started working on cleaning the stove. If I can get through with that and have any time left with the legs I'll at least get started on floors.

Whew, Cooter, you ARE the industrious one! Took a nap right after I left here. Don't remember how long ago that was, but it helped. emoticon

Belle, if I owned a laptop, I could have taken it with me. But, alas, I only have the tower with the monitor, and they don't travel well....

Streamline, I don't see myself anywhere in the picture.... I must not be one of the cool kids. emoticon

Re: The Rumpus Room II

Hello, all. I had an uneventful visit with my regular doctor this morning. It was just a cursory examination and a brief consultation. We spent most of the ten minutes complaining about the brain dead drivers in town. *g*

It’s been a good two years in these digs. Thanks for your efforts, Robbie.

I was thinking about the People Speak and Hank’s push for anarchy. He and Bill Munz used to present the Libertarian view but I don’t remember if Bill was with Hank in that on that board. I had a lot of good conversations with Bill. With Hank too in the early days. I remember that there was a even short-lived Panama Hank for President movement.

I hope you’re feeling better, Lis

Thanks, Brick. So glad your doctor's visit was uneventful. emoticon

Was Bill Munz Brojees? I'm having trouble remembering. But I'm sure it wasn't Brojees. If Bill Munz is a separate person, that's possible. But I'm thinking of a different name....

Honestly, Lis, I’m not sure. I was on a board that Brojees managed and it’s possible he was the same person as Bill Munz, but as I said, I can’t remember with certainty. Brojees board was an exercise in self governance, everyone had management rights and could delete and edit other posters’ posts. Even my recollection of my time there is a bit foggy although I did hang out there from time to time.
