Their stuff is usually good. That's what I like but I usually stick to brands that I know are good.

I seldom shop at Kroger except for real good specials and some things that I know I can get there at a reasonable price. My locally owned grocery store has the best meat and best prices over Kroger and Walmart. Walmart is actually high on a fair bit of stuff, and especially groceries.

Oh! Yes, we do! I didn't know that's Kroger.

I was surprised. Their brand stuff is usually OK. I've got a few cans of their heat and eat soup and they aren't as good as Progresso, but I'd buy them again.

Yes, we buy a number of Kroger-brand items, but after some not-nice experiences with other brands of tuna, I've never tried their brand.

Belle, Brett goes down to Costco in Indianapolis about once a month. Do you have any kind of comparison in terms of quality or price with name brands? (We use Kirkland popcorn and baby wipes, so I know they can be good.) We eat tuna salad at least once a month -- more in the summer -- so it might pay off to try Costco. I just hate to buy 8 or 12 cans at once and then not like it....

Robbie, I was really surprised when we moved Cameron in for college and could use our Kroger credit card there.

I'm not a big Freddie's fan. There are two Fred Meyer stores in Bellingham, neither of which is very close to me.

When I lived in Seattle I was closer to one, and once bought some fresh fruit there. When I got it home and started to use it I was dismayed to discover that it was rotten inside. I've never bought any groceries at any Fred Meyer again.

I did, however, buy my big knitting table there several months ago.

57 this morning. It's downright hot!

I don't know how to compare brands of tuna, Lis. Sorry.

Good morning, all. We are all up and about this morning. Aidan is competing in a triathlon this morning. It’s held in the park where we do our morning walks so I’ve rescheduled to tomorrow morning. Aidan loves this competition. He is usually in the hunt. Run, swim, and bike. Good luck, Aidan!

After it’s over, he and Eva will spend the rest of the day and tomorrow with us. It’s always fun.

Other than that, I might have them help with some yard work for as long as it holds their attention or until the two neighbor kids come a-calling. They keep a sharp lookout. Nice kids.

Coffee please, Tanya. Make it to go. The race starts at 7:15. The park is five minutes from here and we’ll meet them there. Tio Ivan is bringing them. Eva is a spectator today.

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 64 and overcast with a high of 70 and rain starting around noon and lasting into tomorrow.

We had about a 2 hour delay before the ballgame started last night and then a fog delay. It was close to midnight when we finished. I don't think we'll get to play today and have to play two tomorrow.

I was going to try to doze back off with the massage on this morning but Shadow wanted to be petted and would let me know when I was slacking. I'll probably fall asleep in the recliner.

Good morning, all. We have 52F and bright sunshine that is burning off the little bit of marine layer that crept in overnight. We're heading for 75F later today. We got to 80F yesterday, beating the forecast by a couple of degrees. That could happen again today, I suppose.

My Canadian friends are coming down this afternoon for a visit. I always look forward to seeing them.

Brick, good luck to Aiden!

Coffee, please, Tanya.

I've got fog and sun at the same time. 54 degrees. It was 57 at 1 a.m. when I walked around the house.

Today is the day we leave a bag of food at our mailboxes for the mail carrier to pick up. That's a really good service. We have a Help House downtown, to donate food year round. I was shocked to learn some years ago that a large percentage (36 as I remember) of the people who go there for food are military families. We have a lot of homeless people here too. The Haggen shopping center permits them to sit at the entrance and receive food that people give them while driving away from the store.

I think it is, Robbie. We're doing it here, too.

So we're at our high for the day at 56 degrees. It got down to 38 this morning. Remember two days ago, when I finally turned the air conditioning on? It was 77 in the house. *sigh* Oh, and it's raining. Again. And winding. Again.

At least it's not snowing. emoticon

I hope Aidan did well in his race, Brick!

Good afternoon, folks. It’s overcast here. I just got back from the nail spa, where I got a nice manicure, the first one since before I got sick last year. I like supporting small local businesses, moreso when they are not part of a franchise. I saw my ophthalmologist’s office manager at the spa getting her nails done as well, so I told her to say hi to the good doc for me.

Good morning all. 13*C (56*F), raining and winding. Sounds a lot like Lis’ weather. So is Indiana on the upper Adriatic? lol. And the forecast is for cool rainy days for eight of the next nine days. The weather certainly has a way of spoiling everyone’s day off. Our youngest daughter and son in law drove in from Graz, Austria yesterday. So i guess we will all gather for indoor activities today rather than doing anything outdoors.

The big news for the day was the fact that my youngest daughter and son-in-law announced that they are expecting their first child in November.

Not much else going on. Have a great day folks.

Mornin’, folks, It is right at 70 degrees here this morning, trending upward now day by day. It still makes for a nice walk. It’s about time to move our starting time back to 8 instead of 9 o’clock, though. It takes less than an hour to do the 2.5 mile path so we can avoid the real heat for the most part. Hopefully both of my siblings will be there today. I’ve been walking solo for the most part for these last few weeks.

Aidan did well in the triathlon. He placed 8th in a field of around 70. He aimed higher but wasn’t too disappointed. Sandy softened the blow by taking him and Eva to breakfast at Panera’s after the race. Plus, they got to choose the dinner menu last night. Tacos. That always works for me. I haven’t decided on dinner for tonight yet. I’m thinking pizza or pasta. We’ll let them decide. I know Sandy is making their favorite breakfast this morning, blueberry pancakes. We rarely get to do this nowadays, that is, have them(the kids)for the weekend.

Coffee, please, Tanya. I have time for a leisurely cup before heading to the park. I’ll even have time to do some reading before heading out.

Morning, Rumpions:

I've been meaning to tell you that I love these weather reports from all over. My stepdaughter said that money and power are not what corrupt. People are corrupted by climate. (She said this after my husband and I left her in Texas to move to the Pacific Northwest.) My extensive research tells me that Robbie and I are the most corrupted people on the board, followed closely by Hawk.

53 degrees this morning, and I got up too late to see stars. It's cloudy and calm out there, but I'm expecting another gorgeous day when the day gets going.

I'm happy that Aiden did so well, brick.

How many grandchildren will this new one make for you and Becky, Hawk?

What color are your nails, Birdz?

Good morning, all. We have 53F under blue and sunny skies, heading for a high of 65F. Yes, Belle and I are weather-spoiled. I hope weather improves for Lis and Birdz.

Hawk, congratulations on your impending grandchild!

Brick, congratulations to Aidan on placing 8th in such a large field! That's very impressive!

I hope Cooter got some sleep last night.

My kids are taking me out to Mothers Day dinner tonight. We're going to Mambo Italiano, one of my very favorite places.

Coffee, please, Tanya.
