Happy Birthday, Susie!

Something special to drink for the lady, Ramundo! (And then head out to the Queue home to attend to Mr. Queue for the evening, please.)

I drove up to take DD out to dinner. We ate at this Asian place that she and her mother had found, and although it was on the other side of Memphis, it was well worth the drive!!

I'll catch up tomorrow.

38 this morning. Calm, with a clear sky and stars everywhere!

I'm hoping to get my water filter changed today. My maintenance man has been busy painting other people's rooms, and my water pressure has been low for several weeks now. He's much in demand.

I hope you had a happy birthday, Susie. I apologize for my prolonged absence, but as I wrote to Lis in my email, I’ve continued to struggle with my inner demons and that issue was recently compounded with severe shoulder pain. Fortunately the pain has subsided with some physical therapy and a course of steroids and also fortunately my weaning off Xanax was is becoming more comfortable, so I see a glimmer of the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope you all are doing reasonably well, my friends. My observation of myself these days leads me to a more upbeat place than I’ve been in weeks. I’ll take it.

Thanks for reaching out, Lis, and thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts.

Edited to read, prolonged absence. doh

Hi, Brick! I'm glad you're coming out a winner in that struggle with those inner demons, and that you got relief from that shoulder pain, which must have made the struggle much harder. I hope those demons are pulverized for good.

posticon Welcome back, Brick!!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 27 and I'm REAL glad it wasn't this cold a few days ago. The long-range forecast has gone from five days of precip to three with two of them wintry mix. It'll be 40 during the day, so no problems. Everybody here will go batshit though.

I have been alternating two different dark roast coffees, but I decided I would like something not quite so stout to start my day. I bought some Green Mountain medium dark they call Nantucket blend, and so far so good. I may or may not try another one. It depends on whether or not I can find one box of 12 to try. I've been using Dark Magic and Community dark roast. I'll keep one of those, probably the Community.

Good morning, all. We have 31F under clear skies and a promise of sunshine, heading for a high of 40F. There's a pretty good breeze blowing, which makes it seem colder.

Good to see you, Brick! Interesting that you mention shoulder pain. In addition to my back hating me, my left shoulder wants to go click when I raise that arm, and give me a stab of pain when it happens. Given that I'm left-handed, I use my left arm more than my right.

I see the chiro this afternoon. Things are much better, but we're not all the way back to normal, yet. But I can put on my socks and shoes without having to do strange things.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

I reached to take my lunch that I was heating up out of the microwave and got this stabbing pain in my upper back. It's been a while, old friend. I'm moving around OK, so I guess I just need to be careful for a few days.

I've steamed those two lbs. of 21-25 ct. shrimp that I took out of the freezer for some reason a couple of days ago and let them thaw in the fridge.

Glad to have Brick back with us. We were all concerned.

Hi, there! 45F and clear skies, winds 26MPH.

It’s just past 1 PM and already there are two voicemails with final notices before losing Medicare messages. I need to find the phone manual to figure out how to block this number.

I'm so glad to see you, Brick! Sorry I didn't get a message back here for you. I left the computer to watch the NASCAR race, and I think I never came back.... So glad to see things are easing a bit. We really do care about you and are glad to see you when you're able....

Glad you had a nice dinner up north, Cooter. emoticon And those shrimp sound amazing....

Robbie, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, too. Hope you'll see continued improvement! emoticon

Birdz, those darn calls.... I'm getting calls driving me crazy, too. They've been hiding their real numbers and using local numbers, but I just don't pick up unless I know the number. NOW they're using the numbers of the local universities and hospitals -- and I don't dare let THOSE go. It's so DARN frustrating....

Belle, I hope you'll get your new water filter and enjoy newed water pressure with your sparkling water.... emoticon

Well, the winds have FINALLY calmed down. A whole lot of trees went down, power out to thousands, roof damage in several places, and a semi was blown onto its side on a highway. But if anyone missed the fun, never fear. The meteorologist on the news last night said we may have the very same fun this coming weekend -- followed with wind chills of 12 below zero Saturday into Sunday. Joy....

I decided to tackle the recycle !@#$ in the garage because it's driving me nuts and can't blow the leaves out until I get the other stuff out. It doesn't have a door and is a leaf magnet.

Let's hope The Miz gets better and the chiro can help.

I'm back from this afternoon's chiro appointment, followed by Kudo's afternoon walk.

As the snow melts and pulls back away from the trees and shrubs it's as if all the dogs could, once again, leave p-mail for each other. Kudo had to stop and sniff every tree and bush and pee on most of them.

Life is returning to ex-snow normal.

Rough day for Bubba. I've gotten most of the recycle !@#$ sorted and loaded into the wagon and fixed some garbage bags up for the County in the morning.

I'm going to smoke some county ribs ..... don't know why they're called that.....they are cut off of the top of a shoulder.....fix some peas and a sweet potato.
