Re: The Rumpus Room
Let's all hope for a complete recovery for Mr. Queue. Then Susie should hang out a "Closed" on her front door.
It's been a long day here. I'm taking a break from unloading the wagon. Groceries and other stuff for the house. I think I spent a couple hundred bucks.

Re: The Rumpus Room
I have fixed me a bourbon. The wagon is unloaded and everything put away. I still have to unload the DW and decide on supper. If I wasn't diet conscious I'd order pizza. That sounds good!!
I do have some stuff that doesn't involve cooking and won't make the numbers on my scale go up. Speaking of, I'm still under 260.
I feel for the farmers in The South. It will be a while before they can get in the field to prepare them, let alone plant.

Buon giorno!
Coffee, Tanya.
It's 59 and not raining at present. Boomers came through again during the night. How do I know, you ask? I used Da Force!! It should hit the low 70s today and the rain vanish. We will get maybe 5 days of rain starting Wednesday.
I'm drawing a blank on what I'll do today. I know I'll watch our basketball game. I've got a slew of warnings in my email. I just hope that people in the area and even in Oxford dodged a flood. We have been soaked.
I hope all of you girls are doing OK.

Not here.......lol. I know from experience that there is some flooding out in the county and probably high water in the city, but not into homes.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Good morning, all. We have 38F and light rain, which should help in the continuing snow removal efforts, heading for a high of 43F. Walking Kudo this morning came with a thrill as I hit a patch of hidden ice. Fortunately I remained upright.
My mother was born on this date, 105 years ago. I always have held this date as the point beyond which it will not snow. I must admit that line has been crossed occasionally, but I still hold on to it. I see we have a possibility of snow Sunday and again Monday night/Tuesday or it could just be rain. I'm waving the Mother's Birthday Flag at the snow gods and telling them it's too late.
Coffee, please, Tanya.

I celebrate Feb. 15 because we seldom get any winter weather after that.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Feb 15? We're in still in the heart of winter then....
Be careful today, Cooter. It looks like you're in the bullseye for severe weather. The NWS moved the severe area map south of us, but our fun comes tomorrow. We're already under a high wind warning for sustained winds up to 40, gusts up to 60 tomorrow. As much rain and snow as we've had, there's a high probability of trees and power lines going down, so I'm scrambling to get all of my computer work done today.
I'm so glad you remained upright on the ice, Robbie! How is your back doing? I hope the snow gods will pay attention to your Mother's Birthday Flag -- and extend it to the whole country!
Susie, I hope Mr. Queue will feel MUCH better soon with his renewed independence! I have no doubt YOU will, too!
Brett and I went to an amazing concert last night. Two Russian pianists playing a duet on a pair of nine-foot Steinway grand pianos. They featured Rachmaninoff, but also played Bach, Poulenc, and probably three other composers. Absolute heaven....

Re: The Rumpus Room
I'm getting through the day better and better, with the back abating. But the evenings are not so nice. I've sat on the dining room chairs all day, and I'm really tired of them. My butt hurts.
So last night and tonight I've taken the Cooter remedy: chardonnay therapy. I think it relaxes the muscles enough to make a difference.
So! I raise a glass to Doctor Cooter, take a final swig, and head off for bed.
Tanya, you can bring me my tab now.

Good night, Robbie. I'm glad the chardonnay therapy is helping, and I hope you'll have a nice, long sleep! I'm heading for bed, too.... G'night!

Bonjour!
Coffee, Tanya.
It's 44 and sunny and the long-range forecast looks slightly better in that I only saw lightning once. We can do without rain for a while.
I'm glad to see that The Miz is doing better. I feel asleep in my recliner with a Netflix program wondering why I didn't want to start another one. After thinking about the old saying "doctor heal thyself" I had about finished two bourbons. I was concerned about being able to sleep through the night unless I went right to bed but I played with Shadow, brushed my teeth good, put some stuff on my eyebrows that keeps them from "dandruff" and hit the sheets. Slept well.
I think I've still got Peter's phone number but while I might email him calling might not be the right ticket.

Good morning, all. We have 37F and overcast skies, heading for a high of 43F and maybe a peek of sunshine this afternoon.
I slept well, and I gather Cooter did, too. Good. Sleep helps everything.
Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room
It's winding awfully hard out there -- average 41.4 mph and gusts of 57.5 mph. This has been going since 2 am and is supposed to continue well past midnight, when the winds will finally "decrease" to 40 mph gusts.... It was 54 at midnight; currently 34 with wind chill of 18; going down to wind chills of 6 below tonight....
I'm so glad you two slept well. So did I. Sleep really DOES help a lot....
I sent an email to Peter....

Re: The Rumpus Room
We had a lot of high wind a few months ago. It just wears me out, even if I'm indoors. Listening to it puts me on edge.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with it, Lis.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Thanks, Robbie. It really IS wearying....
A little while ago, a particularly ferocious gust hit and the whole house groaned. At that same instant, the door between our bedroom and the hallway opened. I wondered if there was a draft somewhere or whether the movement of the house had somehow moved the door.
No, it was just Brett, moving from the bedroom to the hallway. LOL!
