Oh, Susie.... emoticon I'm sorry Mr. Queue is suffering so much pain.... I hope you'll enjoy your break, but the hosting on top of everything else sounds like so much.... Please take good care of yourself....

I can't imagine needing help for mobility, Belle, but hip and knee replacements may very well be in my future....

C'mon, Mother Nature, bring on a nice melt for the northwest today.... Hope it feels good to get out to the store, Robbie.

Enjoy your Valentine's dinner, Cooter. Daytona Duels are tonight!

Well, my fever finally broke again sometime yesterday afternoon, so that was good. But by the time I was ready for bed, I had the beginnings of a sore throat. So I cancelled out of the two things I had for today. Woke up at 12:30 this afternoon when the phone rang. And now the sore throat is gone, but my headache is back. This merry-go-round of symptoms is completely frustrating! I have one meeting tomorrow that I absolutely have to go to, and Mom has two appointments I would really hate to miss. So I'm just staying in and resting as much as possible.

In better news, I got one of the dissertation chapters edited last night, and I'm DETERMINED to get the other one out the door today! emoticon Other than that, nothing happening here....

Aw, Susie! You've got Mr. Que to deal with and you always seem to get company coming in when you are otherwise occupied. Bless you and Mr. Que.

Lis, I've got to come up with drivers to pull for it's not worth watching for me. It was easy watching Dale and then Junior.

The legends are gone or leaving.... Dale Senior was too dirty for me to support, but I was a Jeff Gordon fan anyway. Once Gordon retired, I became part of Junior Nation. I think I told you I have a stable full of young guys now. I think Truex may be the only guy over 30, and most aren't even 25 yet. It feels weird rooting for guys who are younger than my sons....

*plopping down on a chair in frustration*

I am so entirely stupid.

After having the race on my calendar for months.... After posting my excitement about it earlier.... After just posting an hour ago about my racers.... Would you BELIEVE that I FORGOT about the dang race????????? I was posting about it 1 1/2 hours into the race!!!

I swear, if anyone was looking for proof that I'm still sick, there it is. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Turned it on two hours late. The first duel was over, and they were on lap 22/60 of the second duel.

Doh! Doh! Doh!

I'm sorry, Lis. Having done similar things myself, I know how stupid and embarrassed I felt, and suspect you do now.

Yep, you still have cobwebs in your head.

Ramundo, bring her a Lisberry margarita and a hot pretzel with salt and put it on my tab, please.

Aw, thanks, Robbie. I got to see 38 laps, so it wasn't all for naught....

And gee, I got a Lisberry margarita and a hot pretzel with extra salt out of it! Bonus! emoticon

I finished editing the other chapter of the dissertation a couple of hours ago and sent it away, so my necessaries for today are done.

I have a meeting tomorrow morning that I HAVE to attend (the Feds are coming and we have to prepare) and two appointments for Mom. So we'll see how it goes....

I got the first race then had some things I had to attend to. I didn't make it up to Southaven because I had forgotten about my late appointment at the pain clinic. It was really later than I wanted it to be, and they both were comatose on the couches [sign in to see URL].

Guten Morgen!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 57 and overcast this morning although it feels colder. Rain is supposed to come in during afternoon and evening. Clear tomorrow, but then starting Sunday it looks like rain for a week. I see that we have flood warnings out already for next week.

Not sure what I'll do today other than fold some clothes. I need to do a little housework and will, body permitting.

Belle is right in that I am Shadow's [sign in to see URL].

Good morning, all. We have 34F, heading for a high of 43F and the chance of rain. We're slowly starting to melt the snow, but it's making walking Kudo more treacherous as we transition. I slipped twice this morning -- didn't fall, thank heavens -- and scared myself.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

I hope you don't get a flood, Cooter.

Robbie! It's good that you didn't fall, but you're scaring me, slipping around like that.

OMG, it’s 65F out there! Wha happened?

My trainer says that the midriff discomfort I’m having on one side is a muscle injury from my workouts. I’ve been through this before, on the opposite side. Healing midriff muscle injuries takes forever, experience tells me. Pedro said heat and ibuprofen as needed, and for the time being, my workouts won’t include working those muscles. We’ll stick with arm and leg strength training.

He’s also helping me with my wonky walking gait. Two months with a walker and not being allowed to bear weight on the front of the injured foot meant that I forgot how to walk properly.

Birdz, what an ordeal you're having! It's doubly bad when you have to take time out to heal from the therapy.

Hola!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 35 and cloudy with rain coming in tonight for the next week they're thinking. By this time if we haven't had any real winter weather, we don't get [sign in to see URL] winter rain. emoticon

I'm not sure what I'm doing today. It's only going to get about 50 and I may just stay in front of my fireplace and watch our baseball game on TV. My group wishes that I had been able to make it yesterday, but a few years back I quit going if I wasn't going to be comfortable.

Good morning, all. We have 30F and light overcast, and still about six inches of snow on the ground. It froze overnight, so anyplace that had melted water on it, such as sidewalks, are now sheer ice this morning. Further, everyplace that is still snow has an ice crust on top of it. I walked Kudo up a few houses but we hit a section of ice with no way around it. I told her she'd better figure out how to do bidness here, because we weren't going any farther. Bless her, she did.

And Monday night through Friday we're forecast to get "snow showers." I'm really over having a blanket of winter wonderland.

Coffee, please, Tanya. And some toe warmers.

I marinated a boneless skinless chicken breast for a bit over 24 hours in some Yeri Yeri Teriyaki sauce/marinade that Janet got for me a year or two ago. I did it in the smoker grill with pecan smoke for about 25 minutes at 300 degrees. Couple that with purple hull peas and sauteed broccoli florets in sunflower oil, butter, Himalayan pink salt and garlic and I give it an A- for goodness and flavor.

I've used that marinade before, and it is super good!! I couldn't eat all of the chicken, so I bagged it in the fridge for something later. Maybe a lunch item.

Buon giorno!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 48 degrees with light rain headed for around 53 but still raining. They'll play baseball in this, but probably without me.

I need to make a grocery [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] I'm about to be out of milk, only have two eggs and no salad fixings. I could also use a couple of smaller red potatoes and a couple of sweet potatoes.

I haven't looked at the weather for Daytona. I hope it doesn't rain there.

Good morning, all. I'm later than usual because Dave came here this morning at 6:45 AM to walk Kudo, then stayed for a couple of cups of coffee and some nice conversation. He said it's still very icy in places, especially where people's driveways cross the sidewalk. I'm so lucky he lives nearby and is willing to do this.

It's laundry day, so that's underway. I'm not sure what else is happening today.

I finished my coffee. How about a glass of water, Tanya?

Since I had cereal and blueberries for breakfast, I'm going to have my normal Sunday breakfast for lunch. That's an omelet, bacon, and toast.

I've folded the laundry that I ran a couple of days ago, and other than sheets I don't have any other stuff to wash.
