I know, Robbie, but I've taken precautions in case your rage gives you superhuman powers of transportation. I've mined my front yard.

LOL! Just be careful when you're walking in the dark to see the stars, Belle! emoticon

I think it was the Weather Channel that started naming the storms a few years ago. I don't see our Indianapolis meteorologists or other websites using the names; I only see them on [sign in to see URL] or on the Weather Channel. But maybe I'm missing something.

Hooray for Dave!

Misery loves company, Robbie. It’s not good here. It looks like the coating of ice that was on everything this morning seems to have melted, but the winter storm warning scheduled for tonight has been canceled. I was going to go to the gym but i think I won’t, to be on the safe side.

My finger still hurts from the bird bite. Cockatoos sure have powerful beaks. I guess they need them to crack open nuts.

I’ve had some mild midriff pain on the right side that my trainer says is a likely muscle injury due to the workouts. I had the same thing happen on the left side over a year ago that the nurse practitioner said was a muscle injury. That eventually healed and I took ibuprofen for a little while.

Ouch.... Take good care of yourself, Birdz. All of the snow and ice that were on the ground (except piles where it was shoveled) has melted. And now it has started snowing again.

Many of the local school districts closed for a second straight day, and even we delayed this morning due to ice. There were slide-offs everywhere, and there was at least a two-hour backup on the highway because of all of the 18-wheelers that were jackknifed or off the road.

Damnit! I'm aware that getting my feet going toward where I want them to go and having a dizzy spell every now and then and not just when I get up from sitting, and I haven't moved without a cane in my hand.

I was headed to a recliner from out in the kitchen and I just went down on my left knee. No warning that I can recall. Fortunately, my head hit on the recliner and wasn't hurt. Hell, it might not have been if it hit the floor!

I think Shadow got a little tired at times tonight chasing what is a slice of pizza on the cord at the end of the stick with ribbons on the end. She LOVES chasing that thing!

Janet is going to fly out to Arizona next week and spend a week or so with one of her best buds from Bismarck who has serious cancer issues. DD will stay at her house and I'll go up every couple of days and probably spend a night.

I spent some time yesterday talking to the Sleep Clinic people about CPAP. I wanted information more than anything so I'll know what to ask Doctors when I see them. They fixed me a printout that shows everything and I think I'm averaging about 8 hours a night on it. I told them how sometimes I just have to get up and the recliner and they said it was no big deal.

I'm so sorry you had a crash landing, Cooter. I'm glad you didn't hit your head on the floor.

Someday I will stop reading CPAP as CRAP. But not today. emoticon

More ancestry research . . . It seems that the late Skip Battin, bass guitarist for the Byrds, was a distant cousin of mine.

Cooter! Watch your step.

Cloudy, so no stars this morning. There was a glow in the northwest that may have been the moon.

Good morning, all. It's 25F and no precipitation is falling, although it was snowing like crazy when I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Today is garbage day and a lot of folks put their cans out last night. Walking Kudo this morning and looking at the tops of garbage cans, it's clear we got another three inches or so overnight.

It's supposed to get above freezing, all the way to 36F, this afternoon. Yesterday they said something similar, but we never got above 29F.

And because I have no life other than coping with snow, I'll have some coffee.

Tanya?

Buenos dias!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 32 with sunshine here at Addled Acres. We're supposed to get some rain on and off starting Friday, which is the opener for baseball here.

I'm going to start the rest of my laundry today. I finally got the clothes folded and put up from last week's partial run. I'll also get back to rearranging my pantry so it will be easy to find [sign in to see URL]. I'm also throwing some stuff out that doesn't get used.

Careful, Cooter! Glad it was only to your knee.

Three MORE inches, Robbie? Enough....

We had a little bit of snow last night -- maybe a half-inch at best -- but the winds were absolutely howling all night. Very disconcerting to keep hearing the rafters cracking. We were gusting over 40 overnight, but that has cut back this afternoon.

Weatherbug says tomorrow night we'll go down to 25 degrees with rain. Erm, no. That would be snow, Weatherbug....

I slept in until 1:30 this afternoon. This thing really does have to end at some point, right? I cancelled out of the three things I was supposed to do today, so I'm in for the day. Two more chapters of a doctoral dissertation I'm editing arrived last night, so I'll spend today working on that.

A Lisberry margarita and a hot pretzel with extra salt to clear my head, please...

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 49and cloudy this morning with a predicted high of 64 degrees. Rain is coming in tomorrow just in time for our baseball season to start.

I've got a pain clinic followup today and am going to drive up to Southaven and take Janet and DD out to dinner for Valentine's.

Shadow wanted me to get up and play with her at five. I went back to sleep and she was a good girl until I did get up. She wants to play "chase the pizza" and I'll play with her some later.

Good morning, all. It's 31F with a mostly cloudy sky, heading for 39F with occasional rain this afternoon. Schools are still closed. Some of yesterday's slush became ice overnight and the school buses can't get through.

Later today Dave is going to take me to the bread store. Other than that, there's nothing on my agenda.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Sorry so many of you have had nasty weather. We've had a couple of minor snowstorms, but nothing like the ones in the Pacific Northwest or the Midwest.

Mr. Queue is still struggling with the post-surgery pain. A neighbor has offered to deliver some Mary Jane, but we've declined. We might have to consider that if the surgeon won't renew the pain med prescription, though.

It will be another busy weekend, as my son's mother-in-law is flying here from CA today. I get to make the airport run, since both "kids" are working today and Mr. Queue can't drive. I've arranged for a friend of his to come stay with him while I make the trek to the airport. The kids and MIL will be taking the train from Denver to Glenwood Springs on Saturday and staying a couple of days, so I get to puppy-sit their Abracadabrador in addition to tending to Mr. Queue. Should be interesting...

Take care, all.

Good heavens, Susie, I may be buried in snow but you're buried in care-taking!

Best wishes to you and continued sympathies to Mr Queue.

Thanks, Robbie. It has been more difficult being [sign in to see URL]'s caretaker than either of us imagined. Supposedly, he will be able to put weight on that leg by the end of the month, but I'm apprehensive about whether he'll be ready by then, given his still-high pain level.

The drive to the airport will actually give me a bit of a break for a couple of hours. I'm grateful to the friend who is coming to stay with Mr. Queue while I'm gone.

It's impossible to imagine what not being able to walk is like until you're actually not able. I remember the time after my hip replacement surgery. I would look around at people who were walking and think, "How do they DO that?"

I hope this part of your life passes quickly, Susie.
