I called my wonderful son. He drove down his unsanded, unplowed hill and is now walking Kudo.

She'd better pee, gawddammit.

EDIT: They're back. She pee'd. Damn good thing.

Hooray for sons!!! emoticon

Please don't hesitate to call on him for help, Robbie. As a daughter, I know I was far more concerned about Mom doing something herself when I could help.... emoticon

I'm so glad she peed, and I'll bet you're BOTH relieved!

Thanks for the extra Lisberry margarita. I got a long, hot shower and now feel much more human. My fever is definitely back, so I'm going to wrap up in a blanket in front of the fireplace and contemplate candelling the five things I'm scheduled to do tomorrow....

I hope you're going to contemplate cancelling them, too.

One of the guys in the Lions Club chapter was telling about his recent experience with an attempted scam artist.

To start, his wife recently died. During her illness and death, somehowvthe electric bill didn’t get paid (that had been the wife’s job), and he had gotten a legit call from the power company. He took care of the unpaid bill.

A few days later, he got another call from someone telling him his power was going to be cut off in 45 minutes for nonpayment if he didn’t have cash on hand when someone stopped by to collect. He called the customer service number on the electric bill and they said, no, you’re ok, and that there’s a scam “going around.” The scamster then called again, and our friend gave the scamster hell, and said he had reported the call to the cops and the power company. *click*

Meanwhile, the weather sucks, and one of my birds bit me.

I definitely am considering it, Robbie. Three things are out for sure. The other two are pretty important, but they involve Head Start and a school district education fair -- both of which would put me in direct contact with a whole lot of people. I don't want to take a chance on spreading this. So I'll see if the fever is gone tomorrow. The shower didn't break it, so I'm hoping sleep will. G'night....

I'm sure you know that our temperatures are the lowest first thing in the morning and at their highest mid-afternoon. A normal temperature in the morning may not be all the information you need.

I'm sure it hurts your feelings for your bird to bite you, Birdz. But I'll tell you what a vet told me when I told her Isabella had bitten me. The vet said, "She didn't mean to."

36 this morning, and I sank almost to my ankles into the snow when I walked around the house, just after I ducked under a snow-laden fir branch. Whee! Made it around the house using my trusty Alpine hiking stick. Cloudy and breezy but not currently snowing.

Ouch, Birdz.... emoticon

Mother Nature, enough with the northwest! emoticon

We're now under a wind advisory from 4 pm to 4 am for winds gusting to 45. Joy....

Thanks for thinking about the fever change during the day, Robbie. I did remember. It's lower than it was, but definitely still there. So I have cancelled out of everything for the day. Cleaning ladies are here, so I'm going to go wrap back up in front of the TV and see if I can doze some more....

Bonjour!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 57 and overcast. I can tell that we got a good bit of rain last night.

[sign in to see URL] out a bottle of our best hooch and get that masseuse that's so good over here for the ladies. They've been having a hard way to go and deserve some relaxation. [sign in to see URL] meant the masseur!!!!

My damn paper didn't come so I'll give it some time and send them a message. Something must have happened because this guy is always here before I get up.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning, all. We have 26F and it's snowing. We may get to 34F today, which would be the first time above freezing in ages. My unscientific measurement says I have 8-1/2 inches of snow on the ground, and the NWS says the current snowfall may bring another 1 to 3 inches.

I was able to walk Kudo this morning. She's motivated to do bidness on her first walk of the day, having lasted overnight. Still, we had to walk about eight houses up the sidewalk before she finished.

Belle, I hadn't heard about the new name. I guess Maya was the name of the previous storm, and now we get Nadia. The news says this is the second storm. No, it's #5.

All I can think about is snow.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Maya may be the first storm with a name. I'm still reveling in the fact that we have a storm with a name. I didn't realize that Maya had a name until I read today that Maya was our previous storm's name. Have winter storms always had names? Sometimes I'm astonished at the things I don't notice. Things everyone else is talking about.

This is the first time I've ever heard of a winter storm having a name in our part of the country.

I never thought about it, but I suppose it was the NWS (feds) that started naming them a few years back. I'm not sure about the ones not a part of winter. I think they've named them too.

The NWS has updated its forecast for my area. Earlier they said it would stop snowing around noon. Now they're saying 10:00 tonight.

My wonderful son just left, having walked Kudo. His comment about the snow was "I'm over this."

Me, too.

My forecast is for 40 degrees and rain showers this afternoon. Sun tomorrow. Rain and snow on Thursday. The snow on my porches and banisters is visibly melting, but it still covers the yard and the street. The street has slushy tracks. No sun yet today.
