I know I'm a snow wimp. I'm used to rain, and this isn't rain.

We've had several hours of serious snow, and I don't know how much new snow is on the ground. Enough that our road de-icers have lost the battle, and schools are closed for Monday. So is Western Washington University, which almost never happens.

And at 6:30 or so Monday morning I need to walk a little dog so she can do bidness. One's bladder doesn't quit because of weather events. My thoughts about accommodating her, however, become less thrilled.

No doubt this is a silly question, but, is there any chance you'll go to bed?

Well, I did. Right after I wrote that. 2 1/2 hours later, I was awake, as fresh as a daisy. More than three hours later, I'm tired again but can't seem to get back to sleep. Just came into my office to take some aspirin and will try again. Luckily, Mom has already cancelled the only appointment she had tomorrow, so I'll be able to be in for the day.

[sign in to see URL] says it's 23 in Oak Harbor, but my indoor/outdoor thermometer is usually higher than [sign in to see URL]'s thermometer. However, mine is not working. I can't reset it after putting in new batteries. The one I ordered from Amazon this morning should be here on Wednesday.

It snowed some last night and filled in yesterday's tracks a little (not enough to obliterate them, though), but the blanket was not thick during my walk around the house this morning. Easy to stamp the snow off the soles of my shoes when I came in. Cloudy and no breeze.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning, all. We have 22F, heading for a high of 32F. Rough estimate (sick hand through the snow on the patio) is we got about six inches of new snow last night, and the big storm comes tonight.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
6 PM PST TUESDAY...

* [sign in to see URL] snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8
inches expected. Snow will be accompanied by northeast winds 15
  to 30 mph.

* [sign in to see URL] of western Whatcom County, including Point
Roberts, Lummi Island, Bellingham, and Sumas.

* [sign in to see URL] 4 PM this afternoon to 6 PM PST Tuesday. Heaviest
accumulations will occur tonight through Tuesday morning.

Five to eight more inches!?! Holy !@#$!

Lots of coffee, please, Tanya.

ADDENDUM: A couple of hummingbirds flew by, looking for their feeder. That guilted me out because I hadn't hung it this morning. So I got back into my snow boots and jacket and took it out. But before I went that direction I took a ruler to the patio to a place that had been bare before the snow came and measured: I have 5-1/2 inches of new snow from last night's snowstorm.

Buon giorno!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 60 going to around 64 with rain on the way. I was just looking at the weather situation in Washington. Y'all have my sympathy as well as best wishes for good luck with the snow. Our highs for the week look to be the high 50s and low sixties.

Last night I felt like the way my bed was adjusted it was putting pressure on my sciatic nerve trunks right below my coccyx, so I changed it up a little. I'll never have it like that again! It was difficult to become [sign in to see URL] no, it was very painful. Once I got up it wasn't bad at all, but that was awful!

DD will be back later this week. She's got something at the hospital in Tupelo because the Doctor over there is in her system. We start baseball Friday afternoon!!

I've got a couple of errands to run today along with some light chores in the house. I think I'll have some kind of battered shrimp baked tonight for supper.

Got my thermometer working. It's 29 degrees out there. Heavy gray sky. It's not snowing, but I can see where the snow fell last night. The mailboxes look like licorice covered in white icing.

Sun? I don't expect to see sunshine any time soon. I have a sky full of clouds and 22F.

32 degrees, and the sky is blue, with white clouds. Love those shadows on the snow!

It's not snowing here yet, but on the weather radar one can see it moving from south to north. I'll be getting it before long.

An exhausting afternoon. Talked with the sleep clinic people. He ran off some sheets showing how things are going. I told him that every now and then I just can't get to sleep in my bed and hit a recliner. No [sign in to see URL].

I had to go to Walmart, and my right knee is hurting enough to where I just feel tired everywhere else. LOL!! I'm going to take a mild pain pill and open the !@#$ bar!!

The lawyer I was told about for a VA disability claim is no longer here. I may have to run up to Memphis to see the guy that has helped DD and Philip.

It started snowing again about an hour ago. About 20 minutes ago I got on all my walk-Kudo clothes and boots, leashed her up and went out.

She doesn't want to walk. She stops and makes me drag her through about six inches of snow. I dragged her up about three houses, then gave up and turned around and dragged her back. I dragged her past one more house going the other direction. She still wouldn't go. I gave up and came home.

I'm just about ready to cry.

I hope you can have a relaxing evening, Cooter. And I hope you can find an attorney who will help you.

Well, I got the last of the clean-up finished from the party yesterday. We managed to use enough dishes to fill the dishwasher twice! So I got the first set put away and the second set should be finishing just about now. Washed down all of the counters, tables, and stove and picked up what little mess was in my office, too. I was astonished how many times I had to stop to rest. But I got it done, and I'm a sweaty, stinky mess. A shower is in my immediate future, and then I think I'm going to nap for a while....
