Good morning, all. Lis, I hope both you and Cameron improve quickly. Don’t push yourself.

Congratulation on the new kicks, Birdz. Comfortable shoes are wonderful.

Susie, your description of your weather has me waxing nostalgic for Santa Fe.

I have nothing planned for the rest of the day.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Thanks for the good thoughts. Cameron says the IV hydration and antibiotics helped a lot overnight. He still can't swallow and his lips are badly chapped. They said the ReadyMed completely missed the diagnosis when he went last week -- it was bacterial, not viral. Ugh. So they're seeing how he progresses today.

Yeah, Hawk, I'll testify to the shoulder pain when I broke it. I tolerate pain pretty well -- gave birth to both boys without any meds. But I was in such pain with that shoulder that I couldn't even talk -- spent days just watching the clock to pass four more hours until I could take another pain pill. It was awful. Fortunately, this is NOTHING like that was....

Belle, on the x-ray, you can see the chunk right next to the bone. It didn't go anywhere, thank goodness. The pain has eased some, and I have a little bit better range of motion today, so I'm grateful things are looking up. emoticon

Robbie, I share your hope that California gets some of your rain. The stories coming out of there are horrific....

Cooter, steak and salad sounds wonderful for supper! emoticon Glad you're getting through the clothes you're not using. I need to get going on that, too.

Good morning, Brick! emoticon Hope you have a relaxing day!

I'm finishing up Chapter 17 today -- only one to go! I found a serious error in the Economic Policy chapter of the textbook and sent a note to the editor to suggest how they could fix it. I got a nice note back from my editor yesterday, asking if I had ever taught AP Economics. emoticon Yes.... She said they'll have a major project coming up next year with their AP Econ textbook. Am I interested? Yay! So more work will be coming in the new year. emoticon

Well, the quilt I made my brother when he began chemo has gone bye bye. I told his church friend that I wanted her to have it. When she was going through his stuff at the nursing home after he died, there was no quilt. Also, clothes she bought him were missing.

I guess that’s how it is in those places. I know that when I was in rehab, I never used their laundry service but sent my dirty laundry home with DH for that reason.

That's really sad, Birdz. I'm sorry someone took it who wasn't authorized to do so.

Birdz, i am so sorry to hear of the quilt issue. I am beginning to lose faith in people. Between my orthopedic issues (knees and shoulder) and my MS, during the past few years i have spent more than my fair share of time in hospitals ranging from a tiny 24 bed facility in West Union, Iowa to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. And each time before i went in my wife demanded i give her my wrist watch, my w3dding ring and University of Chicago class ring. As well as my iPhone and my tablet. She did allow me to take an ancient six year old laptop with me to the Mayo. But she even made me give her all my credit cards. About all she would allow me to check in with, were the cloaths on my back, a couple of pair of sweat pants, a couple of t-shirts, a pair of moccasins, and that ancient lap top. She is not about to allow any hospital orderly to go flashing around the watch she gave me for Christmas several years ago.

Good morning, all. We have 52F with light rain and conditions the National Weather Service calls "breezy." They go on to admit we have wind out of the southeast at 22 MPH, gusting to 35 MPH. What, pray tell, does it take for them to call it "windy"? We're supposed to top out at 54F today, so we haven't far to go.

Tonight is the monthly meeting of my homeowners' association board. We're into the home stretch: there's a meeting tonight, one in mid-December, then the annual meeting in late January at which point my term is up. I hope I can last that long. I'm SO ready to be done.

Hawk, your wife was very wise to make you leave all that stuff at home. Things develop legs in hospitals.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Buenos dias!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 31 with light freezing rain which fortunately appears to be staying just a bit to the East of Oxford. Low 26 for tonight. We may get light snow.

I'd LOVE your 54, Robbie! We have highs in the low 30s and lows in the low 20s for the next ten days. Winter weather advisory for sleet and freezing rain overnight and into tomorrow, with up to 2" of snow on top of it. Joy....

Cameron is doing MUCH better! Today he says the pain is nearly gone and he is starting to get his voice back. They finally took him off the liquid diet after breakfast, and he was allowed to order something soft for lunch. If that went well, they might release him this afternoon. Yay!

I continue to improve, as well. Less pain and better motion every day. Very grateful! I got Chapter 17 sent in last night, so now I'm down to the very last one. emoticon

You were smart to leave all of your valuables at home, Hawk. I always do the same. It's a shame that some people prey on others at the most vulnerable times of their lives.

I hope Cameron is well enough to be released today, Lis, and that you continue to improve.

Good luck with the meeting tonight, Robbie. May the remainder of your term at least seem to pass quickly.

Stay warm, Cooter. It’s expected to dip into the low 40s here on Friday, for the first time this year.

That stinks, Birdz. Sandy worked as a local hospice administrator for a number of years before she retired, and while most of the people she dealt with were honest and honorable people she did get to contend with a few who stole from their own families. Sadly, there are people who have no consciences, no shame.

It’s a mild day here, mid 70s and sunny for the moment but showers are on the way. I ran my errands this morning, trips to the bank, the post office, and the grocery store. I adjusted our tee time to accommodate a visit from a friend tomorrow. I switched our tee time to Friday. That was the extent of my list for today.

Tomorrow the plan is for lunch at Los Magueyes for our get together. It will be the first time for Jim and Carol to try it. It features top notch Mexican food. Sandy and I have been there several times and we both love it. I’m looking forward to that.

I hope you all are doing well today. We have no complaints from this quarter.

Son Dave is going to be here in about a half-hour to unhook my computer and take it to the repair shop.

I'll be on radio silence for a while.

No Robbie?????????

PLAY TIME!!!!!

Aw, seriously, I hope you're back soon, Robbie!

They're continuing to change our forecast. Now it looks like .1 to .2 inches of ice/freezing rain/sleet, followed by 1 to 3 inches of snow. I'm staying in, so glad not to have to be out in it.

Cameron came home late this afternoon! His first stop was at a Chick-Fil-A. Happy camper. Then he said he had a lot of laundry to do before he goes back to work tomorrow. *shaking head* Good boy. He'll be home next week, and I am SOOOOOOO happy!!!

Andrew sent a message to the candidate he worked for this fall -- asking to apply for a position on her staff!!! I really, really hope she will be able to find a place for him. He's a fantastic employer, and he has made some deep friendships on the staff -- something he has struggled with his whole life. He'll be home next week, too, yay!!!!!

Good morning, all. It’s currently 67 degrees. It rained several times overnight so the air is washed and fresh. It should be perfect for our walk. The colder weather will be with us tomorrow morning if the prognosticators are right. We’re expecting a low of 39 and a high of 63. Sweater golf weather. Our tee time is for 9:48. As long as the sun is shining, I’ll play, if it’s overcast, probably not.

After our walk today, we’ll spend the rest the of the day hanging out with our long time friends, Jim and Carol.

Coffee please, Tanya.

Good luck with the computer repair, Robbie. I hope you are up and running soon.
