Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning, all. My friend Marvin and I are planning on a trip to the practice range this morning after breakfast. I’ve already hosed down the car.
This morning. Mowing yesterday put a layer of black dust on the car and truck. Sandy was out so her car wasn’t affected. But after the driving range I have nothing that has to be done today. I hope my shoulder doesn’t affect my swing, such as it is. If the shoulder holds up I’ll be playing next week when the temperature drops into the 50s and 60s. I hope that will be the case.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

I hope you’re feeling better, Robbie.

Good morning, all. We have 43F and some amount of fog or clouds overhead, heading for a high of 64F.

This morning I woke up with a sore throat again, although not as bad as it was on Tuesday. I don't get what this is.

I hope your golf swing is just as you want it, Brick.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

There's upper respiratory gunk going around out here, Robbie. Hope your illness will ease....

Cooter, I am SO sorry about your water damage. DEFINITELY turn it in to insurance. Especially if you have to remediate mold and mildew and you've lost your clothing, you're going to meet that deductible. I'm just so sorry....

I have a thousand dollar deductible. I'll talk to my insurance people a little later and get the ServePro people in here. I know where the water had to come from, and I suspect it's been little by little over a period of years. It couldn't have come from any other source.

Sorry about the water damage, Cooter, and I hope it gets fixed PDQ.

And I hope you feel better soon, Robbie.

As for golf, Brick, well, the last time I tried to whack a golf ball (actually a whiffle ball, and in my back yard), I kept missing it! Thank God nobody was filming it. It would have made a great addition to America’s Funniest Home Video.

The podiatrist said that my wound is fully healed, and he took foot impressions for custom orthotics. When they come in in 3-4 weeks, then I go shopping for sensible shoes. Meanwhile, I may use my walking/gym shoes, and NO MORE WALKING BAREFOOT!

Poor [sign in to see URL] went back to my bathroom to shower and get dressed. I heard her trying to open my bedroom door and she is now. Meowing. She's used to spending time in my room whether I'm there or not.

YAY for Birdz!

And BOO for water damage at Casa Cooter!!

And BOO for Robbie's sore throat and related ailments!

We've got a nice sunny day here, with a predicted high in the low 60s and an overnight low around 40. This is much more typical fall weather. emoticon

I've got a couple of work assignments for the rest of the week, but nothing too onerous.

Take care, all!

Congratulations, Birdz!!! You've graduated!!! emoticon

Susie, you're running about 10 degrees warmer than us! In Colorado! emoticon

Poor Shadow.... Poor Cooter.... I hope ServPro is able to fix you up quickly. We had to have them come once when our basement filled with water, and they were wonderful. Darn expensive, but wonderful....

I'm truly super happy for Birdz. It's been a long row to hoe, but by golly she hung in there, stuck with it and made it happen!!

Drinks on me today in her honor!

This will cost me probably a grand no matter what.

Probably so, Cooter.... But that means it will be super important to list ALL of your damages, because everything above that $1000 will be replaced....

The ServPro estimate is around $[sign in to see URL]. I have a $[sign in to see URL] deductible. I'm not sure what all I can claim right now. We'll have to work on it.

Great news, Birdz, about your healing.

As far as hitting the golf ball, keep your head down. LOL! Just kidding. It’s the universal advice for those who struggle with their swing which is everyone who plays or tries to play the game. 😈

I had a good outing on the range, no serious shoulder pain and I struck the ball reasonably well. It bodes well for getting out and playing 18 holes as soon as it cools down some. The afternoon temperatures are still topping out in the 90s. The forecasts for the coming week look promising.

Michele is headed to NY for a continuing education course this weekend so Sandy and I will have Eva and Aidan as houseguests until Sunday. Franklin is working out of town and will be back to get them then. Michele will be back on Monday. Tonight we’re celebrate Ethan’s 12th birthday here. He is Tara’s oldest. They’re doing a pizza party.

As for my day, after the morning walk and a trip to the auto parts store for new battery terminal ends, to be changed out on Monday, I have nothing. I’ll rest up for the weekend company. 🙂

Coffee, please, Tanya. The coffee group has dwindled to just a few with three of the guys traveling.

Good morning, all. We're starting out at 41F with clear skies, heading for 61F.

Brick, how nice that you could hit a bucket of balls without hurting your shoulder. That must be encouraging.

I've been putting off a Costco run for a week or more, in part because I couldn't tell whether I was healthy enough to go, and in part because braving the hordes seemed too much. But now I really can't put it off any longer so today I'll have my outing.

Coffee, please, Tanya, to shore me up.

Hola!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 60 and sunny headed for 74 today. I've marinated a pork coppa roast in apple butter overnight and will put it on the smoker after lunch.

I've thawed out some ground chuck and will make some chili for the weekend in my cast iron Dutch oven that I got last year.

I'm glad that Brick's shoulder did well with the golf balls. Hopefully The Miz will feel better and Costco won't be too bad.

So glad you had such a good golf outing, Brick! Enjoy your weekend with the grandkids. emoticon

Hope your shopping goes well, Robbie.

Yum for your upcoming meals, Cooter! I'm hoping chili is Brett's menu choice for tonight.

Mom's having a surprisingly good day. We got her bloodwork done this morning, got her hair done, got meds picked up, got gas, got the car washed, got cupcakes, got ice cream cones.... Busy day!

It's only 55 (we were 38 this morning), but the 25 mph winds are biting cold. Front is coming through, and they're talking about the "s" word for Sunday. I'm hobbling and stiff as a board, but Mom's moving freely. I do NOT understand it, but am grateful she was able to do so much today.

I was a good girl and braved Costco. Now I'm $186 lighter but I'm restocked.

Why do slow people walk three abreast and stroll down aisles?

I'm not sure what the reason is, but it seems to be universal.

So glad you're all restocked!

Just called to ask Brett if he would make his famous chili for supper -- and he said yes! He's picking up fresh bread on his way home. Yummmmmmm....
