Lis, I've been drinking more tea, both hot and iced, with lemon. I don't miss the sugar, and I get the caffeine that sustains me through long work days.

Unfortunately, I can't stand the taste of tea or coffee.... Love the SMELL of both, but the taste is even more objectionable than diet colas....

I hope you find an acceptable alternative. Have you tried herbal teas?

No, I haven't. It has been years since I tried a hot tea. Maybe I should try again. emoticon I can always go back to my lemonade -- I still always get that when I go to restaurants. But I'm relying on the caffeine to keep going right now. I should give the tea a try -- especially now that it's getting cold outside. Do you have a recommendation for a particular brand or flavor? I like lemon, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and orange flavors if that is a help.

Good luck with the sprinkler system, Susie.

[sign in to see URL] keep Coke Zero around for when I want a soda with popcorn or when I decide I want a rum and Coke or bourbon and Coke. I've quit paying attention to all of the "scare studies" I call them. I use butter.

I have a tea maker and sweeten it with Splenda as it's brewing. I love iced tea and keep a decanter in the fridge and also plenty of lemons.

I got hosed down some at the dermatologist which was not unexpected. I normally have a few things that he just wants to get rid of. I had a few things that I wanted him to look at, and he said "Good"....lol. I guess he hadn't had much to do today. Then he sat down and we talked a little politics. Turns out we're both about the same.

Help me understand "hosed down."

At 5:32 a.m. it's 47 degrees and dark. Well, dark from in here. Out there, the stars are swarming. I tried to choose my favorite one this morning while walking around the house, but as soon as I picked one, I would see another one that charmed my socks off.

Thanks for the suggestions, Susie, and for being glad that I can't tear myself away from you all. I haven't read Zealot and Zorba, but I have read Being Mortal. What a book! It eases my mind about getting old, and gives me hope that it's possible for a nursing home not to be a prison, and that in some places, nursing homes are not prisons.

I don't know whether my brother-in-law has read Zealot and Zorba, but I want to read them.

Doc carries a bottle of liquid nitrogen that he can spray on moles and such that don't need tests run on but need removing. That kills the mole and it will fall off after several days.

It's 48 with rain expected today and tonight with a high of fifty-three. We got some light rain during the night.

I see my primary care physician after lunch. I don't have much of anything to talk to her about other than they didn't do blood work during the summer as usual. They normally do that every six months. She wanted to start seeing me every three months so I made this [sign in to see URL].

Good morning, all. It's 39F with light fog, heading for a high of 65F. Belle keeps the stars for herself these mornings and sends the fog over here so I can't see them. We should both have clear skies and sunshine today, though.

Today is my little boy's birthday. He's 56, which is a whole lot older than I am. emoticon

I have puttering to do today. I might actually do it.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Heavens no! We are scheduled to go out to dinner tonight, though.

However, I just sent Dave and Lynne a text that I woke up with a sore throat that is getting sorer and now my eyes are starting to sting. I may need to ask to postpone birthday dinner.

No, it's in the "Good" range. This is clearly the start of a cold.

Oh, so sorry, Robbie.

I just got home from spending a few hours with the sewing ladies. I was working on an unfamiliar sewing machine and wasted some time trying to get it threaded properly.

I really should bring in one of my machines (yes, I have more than one) and work on one that I’m familiar with.

I got a nice warm welcome from the ladies after my two month absence.

May your cold be mild and brief, Robbie.

I tinkered with the truck again for a short while this morning. I put the battery on a charger, but it looks like I’m going to replace it. It’s not taking a charge. I’ll bring it in and have it tested in the morning to be sure. I put off mowing the yards until tomorrow because I could. 🙂

Good to hear of your warm welcome from your friends, Birdz.

Happy Birthday, Dave!

I'm sorry to hear about your condition, Miz. I hope that you improve and get back to normal.

That's great that you were able to get out with your sewing ladies, Birdz.

I'm sure that this is no surprise to Brick, but my experience with batteries is if you're having trouble getting them to take a charge, it means those suckers are dead!

I have the same experience with batteries. When I take it in the core will already be there when I buy the new one. It saves me the trip. Truth be told, I hope it is the battery that is the problem. It’s the easiest fix of the possible problems.
