The birthday party and anniversary celebration both sound super! I hope everyone has a wonderful time, and you have a refreshing nap.

Buon giorno!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 79 and mostly sunny this AM and I see that we're backing down to the upper eighties.

I need to pick up a few things this morning for the weekend. DD doesn't deal with gluten but a while back I found some gluten-free ciabatta buns that she says are actually good. I'll smoke some sausages of some sort for lunches during football. We're having chicken wings with sides and spaghetti for supper the next two nights.

Good morning, all. We have 54F under heavily-clouded skies, heading for rain and 66F.

I'm trying to wind up some small household project I've had part-way done for a while. Here's hoping I can get them all the way done.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Good morning, everyone. 70F here with a chance of showers.

When the infusion therapy nurse asked me how I was doing, I burst into tears. I am so sick of being a gimp, and it’s been six weeks that I’ve been glued to the walker. She assured me that depression during convalescence is normal, which actually made me feel a bit better. Everybody reminds me that I’ll get better, something I need to be reminded of right now.

I saw my primary care doctor yesterday, and he explained that fighting an infection and being on antiniotics can mess up body chemistry, including sodium levels. He noticed that I had some edema in the legs since I got taken off the diuretic for blood pressure. For now it’s running about 140/75, and he’s ok with it. He drew blood to test sodium levels and a1c and said that we’ll review medications after all this !@#$ is behind me.

Awww, Birdz, I'm sorry this is dragging on so miserably for you. I have no doubt you're weary of it, and who wouldn't be?

Yes, you'll get better. And after it does you'll look back on this time and just be glad you got through it and to the other end. Until then, of course, it's the pits.

We love you.

Sandy and I just came back home from our anniversary dinner. Sandy wanted Mexican and I’m always up for that. Two jalapeño margaritas got it started and two excellent meals followed. It was a very nice start to the evening. I just happen to have the ingredients for a few home made jalapeño margaritas. I see a few more of those in the near future.

Robbie, if dinner with Dave is in your plans for the evening I hope it is a nice one.

Have a good evening, all.

Brick, I'm glad your anniversary dinner was just what you wanted!

Dave and Lynne left for Greece last Saturday and won't be back until next Saturday. Accordingly, I won't be having Friday night dinner with them for a few weeks. They're posting regularly on Facebook, complete with pictures, so I feel like I'm getting a good look at the place.

So, I have been working on a project for my church, with several other people on the committee. They have discovered by background in journalism, so at this point, I am doing most of the writing and some editing. That's OK. It's easier for me if I write it than edit other people's sloppy writing.

But it is more work than I anticipated when I signed up for this gig.

Tonight, I'm asking Mr. Queue to take me out for dinner at a relatively low-cost Italian restaurant nearby, since his extended family will be arriving next week for the niece's wedding celebration in the mountains nearby. And wouldn't you know it, with all the people coming to stay with us, my washing machine has decided to conk out before going into the final spin cycle. Damn thing is only 8 years old!!

*trying to quit b**ching*

I think you have every right to do some b**ching, Susie. How do the appliance gods always know when the worst time would be to go blooey?

Yikes, Susie. Hope you'll get a new washing machine quickly. And I hope your work eases up a bit. I feel your pain.

Happy anniversary, Brick and Sandy! emoticon

Sorry you're missing dinners with Dave and Lynne, but so glad they're enjoying their trip!

Happy anniversary, Brick! Sorry about your washing machine, Susie.

I feel better today, but I know that this whole process will continue to be an emotional roller coaster. It has been since I had the surgery on August 10.

The home health nurse came by yesterday with a student nurse in tow. The birds decided to talk to them, and they actually understood, “How ya doin?” and “Oh-Kay!”

How cool! emoticon

As long as you stay strapped in for the ride and keep your hands and feet inside the car, you'll make it through this roller coaster ride just fine. emoticon

Guten Morgen!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 76 in Oxford on a football weekend with a likely high of eighty-five. That's certainly better than what it's been. There's possibly rain coming for the Carolinas, but not another storm. I'm watching the radar North and West of me to see if there will be any movement.

The football menu for the weekend will be Ballpark uncured Angus beef hot dogs which DD says are awesome. We'll have chicken wings and fries for supper and I also have some pastrami, sourkraut, pumpernickel bread, and Swiss and provolone cheeses.

It looks like a lot of stuff happened while I was getting killed on XBox last night.

Good morning, all. I overslept my usual wake up time by about a half hour, so I'm a little behind this morning. It's 63F right now with heavily overcast skies, and our "high" is supposed to be 62F. That does seem a bit backwards. And wind and rain are on their way.

I'd like to finish a hat I'm knitting today. We'll see if I actually accomplish that.

Coffee, please, Tanya. Strong.

Wow, Cooter. Sounds like you have a feast underway!

Had a group of five here last night for five hours, putting together letters for the Dem US House candidate for our district. Doing our part. emoticon

We had heat indices in the upper 90s most of the week and over 100 one day. Tomorrow we're only supposed to have a high in the low 60s. Nice autumn surprise.

[sign in to see URL]'s NOT snowing! YES!!!

Belle and Birdz and anyone else posting on YAP (Cooter already knows this): are you aware I'm Wendy Moonshines on YAP?

This started years ago -- I think it was in the EZ Board days, even before Yuku -- that YAP wouldn't let me register as Miz Robbie, saying the name was already in use. (Yes, it was. On Time Zone.) So I signed up as Wendy Moonshines and have kept it all along.

It used to say "a/k/a Miz Robbie" under my avatar on YAP, but that seems to have disappeared in the current regime. I'm not trying to hide who I am.

NO! I didn't know who that marvy Wendy Moonshines was this morning when I was reading her and liking her posts.

YAP is daunting because it has so many posters and so many posts. I joined months ago, but have until now looked at it briefly now and then. Today I had a lot of catching up to do, just reading the threads I'm most interested in.

Way to go, Wendy!
