Hello, all. Well, yesterday I paid $55 to have my truck towed to my mechanic’s shop. I told the guys that there was no rush. As an afterthought I decided to have the oil changed while it was there and called this afternoon to let them know what I wanted only to be told that my truck was starting every time they turned the key. *g* I guess jarring it got the starter going. In any case, I’m getting the truck back on Monday for the towing charge and the cost of an oil change, much less than I was anticipating.

I roasted the chiles today after our morning walk, Sandy vacuum sealed them, and they are now in the big freezer. Mission accomplished. All in all a positive day.

Happy weekend, everyone.

I've replaced starters before, and with most vehicles, it's not that hard. I'm trying to remember what I changed in our vehicles back in another life, and all I had to do was pop the hood in my truck, and there it was. With my wife's Accord, I had to go use a lift at my mechanic's place and then get him to help get the damn thing loose. It was hidden, pretty much. I hated changing the plugs in the 454 we had in a Chevy ragtop. I needed two different extensions and a universal joint extension. Pain in the ass.

Yeah, without a lift it’s a real pain in the ass to reach. Under a lift it’s about a half hour job. One of the coffee group has one. He and his son used to do car restorations. He’ll be out of town until October. But, as it happened I wouldn’t have had to use it anyway.

I can't remember what it was. Some kind of filter I think, but not the oil filter.

Aloha!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 76 and cloudy this AM on the day that we spend time together remembering Philip. Janet hasn't had her "bawl" yet she says. I told her that the moment will come where she's by herself for a while and just let it out. It will just be the right time. I'll head up there right after lunch. All of the BBQ stuff is ready.

So, not much to do here. Just have some coffee, tend to Shadow......who I can hear is into something back in the kitchen/dining room and comes trotting back out here looking innocent.......lol. That seldom happens. She knows where I don't want her and where is OK. She also knows that the SECOND cup of coffee is rubbing and brushing time on the floor with her. Not the first, the second. When she hears it fire up the second time, here she comes letting me know in no uncertain terms that it's floor time.

Good morning, all. We have 59F under cloudy skies, heading for a high of 67F. We got some decent rain overnight, and all the green things outside are thanking the precipitation gods.

Family dinner last night was a real treat. Sebastian is a wonderful young man and it will be a pleasure having him around. And how many teenage boys can one say that about? emoticon

Cooter, you and Shadow have taught each other well. You have your routines and each of you knows his or her part in it.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Shadow is a smart girl. All of my cats have learned various things, but some are smarter than others. Buddy was that way. I know that rote and routine plays a big part, but I've watched her figure some things out pretty fast.

Hello, all. Sandy and I will have Eva and Aidan join us for dinner tonight. They requested spaghetti and meatballs. Works for me. 🙂

I’m glad you had a pleasant dinner last night, Robbie.

It’s great to see how your relationship with Shadow has developed, Cooter. My three, Shiva, Sugar, and Spike are my best friends.

Thanks, Cooter. I learned a lot from Mom, but the grilling and smoking I’ve learned as I’ve gone. And Sean has prodded me by giving me first a Brinkman’s electric smoker and then the Big Green Egg plus some good books to go with them. I enjoy the process. Believe it or not it is similar to laying brick in that set up, preparation, and coordination help to yield a good result. Aside from all that, it’s fun and a joy to see people enjoy.
