Birdz! Hi!

Thanks, Brick.... I'm about as technically unsavvy as they come, but... So far, so good. I'm seeing a lot of coding up there.... *worried* And somehow the word "quote" showed up in a quote and I can't seem to remove it. It's a learning process, but it's already much better than the Tapas thing.... BTW, it's not automatically going to where posts left off, and I can't see an indication of which posts I haven't read yet.... Do I need to set something for that? I'll never remember....

Thanks again, Robbie and Cooter, for making this possible.

Ok, this is cool. I see an "insert image" button. I usually post from my iPad, as I'm doing now, and couldn't do anything on Yuku from the iPad except post text.

I bought a new wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse at a great price. My keyboard had been acting up, so I grabbed it. The keyboard is a natural keyboard, but of course it's different from Microsoft's. That's OK. I'll get used to it pretty quick. I can't get the damn mouse to adjust. When I went to settings, I was able to set the page scroll thing, but then the pointer went dark. Nothing so far, and I can't use that mouse. I've got the old one on which eats up a USB port. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!! emoticon

Lis, some of this will get resolved when I switch us to a platinum board. But some of the options I see in the setup might as well be written in Interplanitary Esperanto for all my ability to understand it.

And while it's nice of you to thank Cooter and me for setting this up, I think Cooter was quite deft in showing me this hosting site, then telling me he was too busy to deal with it, yet.

The Miz gets all of the credit. I've been up to my ears in alligators for a while now, and am just now starting to be able to breathe. I can't say enough for the time and effort that she's put in to make it possible for us to stay together without a bunch of new folks who we may or may not like.

Cooter, does "natural keyboard" mean one of those ergonomic keyboards that divide in the middle and take your hands opposite directions?

My daughter-in-law loves hers. I couldn't make it work, but I'm 74 years old and learned to type in typing class when I was 15.

Awwww... thanks, Cooter. But I never would have known about this hosting site if you hadn't shown it to me.

This keyboard is slightly different from the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard that I was used to, but I'll get it down in a couple of days. I fell in love with this type keyboard pretty quickly. It takes all of the stress out of your shoulders, arms, wrists, etc. I have no idea why government and business don't use these.

Mornin'

I hope you're sleeping peacefully, Robbie. Hi, Birdz!

I've had a change in my morning routine just sort of happen to me. Regardless of what time I go to bed I wake up between 4 and 4:30 which is an hour earlier than what was normal for many years. I used to try to go back to sleep and rarely could. These days I get up, take my meds with a glass of juice and take Shiva out. Then I turn on the tube, catch up on the overnight news and then get breakfast together for Shiva and me. After breakfast I complete my medication regimen, with one my smokeable blends. After that, I stretch out on the couch and go back to sleep for two or three hours. I'll definitely take it. It seems to me that early nap is the best sleep I get. It's strange but it's working. Interesting, eh? 😜

Coffee, please, Tanya. I'm entering the breakfast phase of what has become my new normal. Any doughnuts around?

I'd like coffee and a bagel, but I'm heading to the doctor's office in a few to have blood drawn. So, I'll just make this a drive-by post and wish everyone a good morning!

BTW, runboard is pretty cool, once you get the hang of it. I belonged to a community here some years back. Good place to have landed, Roberta!

Buenos dias!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 75 and sunny here at Happy Kitty Haven. Shadow came in some time after I went to bed, as is her custom, and curled up between my lower legs in "her spot". Later she wanted some attention, so got up and came over to my side, got petted, then curled up in my lap where she stayed. Every now and then I'd hear from her and give her some attention. That went on until we got up, and she was "pet me Daddy" after I got coffee. She's had lots of attention and has been brushed nicely.

I need a haircut. I'm thawing out my wild caught Pacific salmon filet for the smoker.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning, all. It's 59 degrees and partly cloudy, heading for a forecast high of 70. It's really autumn, now. The cottonwood trees behind me are dumping leaves all over my back yard, and the next-door neighbors' maple tree is turning lovely colors.

Nothing much on my agenda today. The Seahawks play the Vikings tonight in our home opener, so the kids and I are doing our Friday night dinner a little early so we can be home by the 7:00 PM kickoff.

Cooter, some government and business offices do use ergonomic keyboards. Maybe I've never given them enough of a chance, but the few times I tried them I didn't like them.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

I'm looking out the window and seeing a clear sky, but the forecast is for storms this afternoon. I'm going to go to the gym, then run down to the supermarket to pick up what I forgot when I went shopping yesterday. I thought I'd have more time after retiring, but I'm not always able to find time to quilt!

Amazon sent me an email saying that the eclipse sunglasses I bought, which were described as ISO certified, are, in fact, knockoffs. Amazon refunded my purchase, but I've been unable to get some real eclipse glasses t any price. So I guess I'll be using the old pinhole in the cardboard trick instead. It's supposed to be 80+% eclipsed here. Or it could rain.

A keyboard that takes stress off of your shoulders? *perk* You have my attention. My shoulders both really do hurt when I use the keyboard -- which is a whole lot of the time. Maybe I should look into those ergonomic keyboards. Thanks!

It's hot (mid to upper 80s) and horribly humid here... Hard to breathe when outside.... Typical Indiana August.

We'll be driving back to Mom's city for a doctor's appointment during the entire eclipse event here, so I'm not messing with any glasses. We're supposed to go 90% dark. Our news stations are putting out warnings to drivers to NOT pay attention to the eclipse and to pay attention to the road. But, human nature being what it is....

On board, and checking in. Glad to see so many familiar user names!

So, what's up with whatsup? Still trying to retire, in the middle of round two of voluntary layoffs and really hoping for the best. If not, I'll work 10 more months and retire anyway.

Otherwise we're all in good health and happy as you can be in Arizona, in August.
