Good morning, all. It's 59 degrees under partly cloudy skies, heading for a forecast high of 72. Goldilocks weather is back.

Nothing much on my agenda today except to go to the bakery and stock up on my favorite bread.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Busted Bust

Suzie and Robbie, then Robbie and Suzie
They circled around at the top of the stair;
The Raven was sweating – the dance made him woozy –
And his sight was obscured by how Sue tossed her hair.
Abandoning both (who was he to be choosey?)
He fled, flapping fleetly away from the pair.
The space was so small that without room to cruise, he
Alighted on top of a statuette where
It arose from the egg on the table – a doozy,
A carefully-glued-back-together affair.
The cobwebs were dense and the atmosphere boozy –
And more than a little familiar in there.
He bent his head sideways to look at the floozie
Whose head he had gripped, and was stunned by his stare!
It was Bush! Barbara Bush – and that was the news he
So shockingly cawed through the dust-laden air …

Hahaha! Marcus, that is brilliant! Thank you!

Brick, your good medical news must be a huge relief to you and Sandy, as it is to all of us here.

It was a long ordeal, and I'm glad it has come to such a good conclusion.

As a bit of administrivia...

We are, right now, on Runboard's free plan. That means they can put ads on this board. It also means I can't make some adjustments to the layout (e.g., there are ten posts per page, and I can't change it to 20).

There is a premium plan available, and it's not expensive. It's $25 for 100,000 page views, which they estimate will last about a year. However, it has to be paid by Paypal, which I don't have and refuse to get. The rest of you can't get to the area where you make the payment.

We had something similar happen at Yuku. My son has Paypal and I paid it using his account, then paid him back. I'll see if I can do that with him again. I may be able to do it Friday night, but I can't guarantee that. Meanwhile, it's a lousy ten posts per page.

Sorry 'bout that.

posticon Hola!

It's 78 and cloudy here at the ranch, once again headed for the mid 80s with the chance for an afternoon or evening boomer.

Shadow let me sleep in this morning, which was nice considering that DD and I were up late last night after a full day. At some point in the next few days I'm going to break in my new slow cooker with a pot roast. I may make some bread.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Thanks for the heads up, Cooter. Great to see you, Forde. I hope you're doing well enough to join us soon, Susie. I just finished my chores for the day. I mowed and trimmed the front yards. I'll take the blower to the walks and drives after dinner. Right now I'm cooling down before I shower. And after the sun starts to go down I can use the blower without breaking a sweat, but for now, I'm done.

Sean and his family are near Raleigh on the last leg of their vacation. Sean engineered a get together with all of his colleagues and their families for a long weekend. It was great having the Pittsburgh contingent here for their extended stay and even though we didn't catch many fish, we had a good time cruising the lakes.

Tall iced tea, please, Tanya, lots of lemon and sugar. Thanks again, Robbie.

After some coffee and breakfast, Shadow and I repaired to the recliner and woke up about an hour [sign in to see URL].

I think that only chores that will get done today will be in the kitchen.

I hope that Susie is doing well, and it's great to see Forde!

Sandy and I just had a boneless rib eye, baked potato, and broccoli with hollandaise. It was delicious! This is a major step forward. To be able to enjoy the taste of food and be able to swallow it. Beats the hell out of oatmeal. lol! Surf and turf next. 😎 I used my small charcoal Weber to grill the steak. Yum!

I came in here a while ago, saw Brick's description of his lovely dinner, glanced up and saw my post that said I needed to go to the bakery and buy bread.

Holy yeast, I had totally forgotten, and this is the day they make the one I want! So I jumped in the car and hauled butt up there and was rewarded with three loaves still being available.

Whew!

Well, I'm glad my dinner served you in its own way as well.

Glad to see you, Kay!

I have gumbo that I threw together last night will I was doing other stuff. I needed to use the shrimp. It's not my good gumbo, but it's doable. I'll eat it! LOL!! I did forget to make bread, though. Maybe tomorrow.

I for one am glad that we have a nice place and don't have to deal with Tapatalk. It was really important to me for us to be able to stay together, no matter how we made it.
