Quarantine Poll
If your state, county or locale were to relax the stay home/business shutdowns in say, one month from now:
Which precautions would you still take (if any)?
Which precautions would you give up (if any)?

Re: Quarantine Poll
That's an interesting question. I need to get my hearing aids updated and get my eyes checked for new glasses. I might be tempted to try to get appointments for those things.

Re: Quarantine Poll
I think I'd still wear a mask when going places where there are other people and I'd still try to keep a good distance from others.
Given that my hair salon is only a two-chair affair in an add-on to a private home, I think I'd give up the precaution of avoiding it. Man, do I need a haircut!

Re: Quarantine Poll
They already have here in Vermont. Last Monday - the 20th, the restrictions on small contractor crews, garden supply stores, real estate agents, lawyers, property managers, and landscapers were lifted. Social distancing and face masks are still required for those individuals to work.
I've told my tenants and the folks who work with me that we will be phasing in some light exterior repair work beginning tomorrow and that the showing of available properties and inside repairs could begin next Monday.
So yes, I say go slow.

I will still stay home as much as possible. Any meetings that I can still attend by computer, I will. My lungs are just too compromised to take the chance.

I would go visit my mom -- wearing full protection, so as not to take a chance on giving it to her.
I'll still keep doing Meals on Wheels -- it's a necessity.
Beyond that, I'm not in any hurry at all to get out there.

Re: Quarantine Poll
Well, I'm going to the dentist on Thursday to have him take care of a molar that I cracked. It may require two visits, since I assume he's going to want to put a crown on it. (There goes my coronavirus stimulus money.)
I'm also hoping to get my cataract surgeries rescheduled, since those procedures were considered "elective." (Not sure I consider going progressively more blind to be something I "elected" to do, but whatever.)
The two other things I'd really LIKE to do involve travel - to our cabin in southern Colorado and to our younger son's wedding in Portland in mid-July. I don't know if either of those things will be possible. If not, I hope my son can postpone the wedding since it's a small one, around 50 people.

Re: Quarantine Poll
The son of a close friend was to get married June 20, 2020. They even put the wedding off a year to get that special date. They finally cancelled yesterday, putting the wedding off for another year. Disappointing, I'm sure.

Re: Quarantine Poll
I hope that in a month that there would have been no new cases here and that hospital admissions would have dropped to zero. In that case I’d go back to my walks in the park but still maintain social distancing. I doubt that I’d change much more than that at that point. I’ll follow the direction of the science.

Re: Quarantine Poll
I’d catch up on my eye exam and dental cleaning, and I’d get my hair cut and a manicure and massage. I’d still wear the mask, except for the haircut and dental stuff, of course!
