Birthday dinner was a success. Dave loved the ribs. I am stuffed. I sent leftovers home with them because I can't possibly eat all that.

YAY!

Congrats on the toilet, Brick, and I’m glad that Isabella feels better, Belle.

DH begins his second infusion tomorrow. I’m so glad that insurance encourages that it be done at home instead of the hospital or infusion center. The nurses who come Are very diligent about supervising him during the infusion, vitals taken every 30 minutes.

53 here and cloudy.

Isabella is impatiently waiting for her 4 a.m. food.

Talking of food, I was hoping you would send the spare spareribs to me, Robbie.

It's so good that DH can get his infusion at home, Birdz. No hassle about getting to the hospital. Good luck to him with today's infusion.

Good morning, all. We have 52F with overcast skies, heading for 57F and continued overcast skies. There's a slight chance of rain.

I slept late this morning, then slogged through my morning routine. I'm glad Dave liked his birthday dinner because it's a lot of work. Today is a good day to loaf.

I hope all you things are starting the day feeling rested and refreshed.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Feeling rested and refreshed here! emoticon I'm glad you get to loaf today. I may join you. emoticon

Hooray for Isabella eating her breakfast. Do you think she made the connection that Not Eating = Trip to the Vet?

The house looks like Hurricane Andrew blew through it. Clothes heaped on the bed (the ones he didn't want to take), items scattered everywhere through the house.... I'm still too tired to care about cleaning them up yet, but that moment will occur at some point. emoticon

That's what I was thinking, Lis. You should have seen her recover fast when she saw me get that carrier out yesterday.

You'll be cleaning up after Andrew in a good cause, Lis, smiling all the time.

Sweet tea with a wedge of lemon, please, Tanya.

It was 42 when I went out to get the paper after I got up. It's 52 and sunny now and won't get much warmer.

Yay for Isabella! Shadow pointed out that cats lay dead to the world at times. She is now on top of the house in her tower.

I'm just watching football today. I don't know if I'll get the Steelers' game. I just get a choice of two and I same to be getting Dallas instead of NO which is mud dumb. I also get Tenn. At least I get to root for whoever is playing Dallas.

I've got some good Oscar Meyer smokies which are really good. I've got a couple with a little mayo in the bun along with chopped red onion and stone ground mustord on top.

Yum, Cooter. I just got ravioli from the can. *G*

My friend and I went to Sam's Club yesterday, so I could restock some things and then send Brett on the path to make some things this week: Green peppers to make stuffed peppers; chicken to make chicken rice casserole; pork chops to make pork chops and mashed potatoes; and Bob Evans link sausages to make pancakes and sausage. I also got Brett a whole pineapple (he LOVES them), grapes, and nitrile gloves to wear for my Kiwanis meetings (because the virus travels on money, and I'm their money person). I couldn't find them anywhere for a long time. Sam's Club had them -- in boxes of 200. I think I'll have those for a LONG time! emoticon

51 this morning and sprinkling, so I didn't walk around the house. I'm looking forward to another good day of reading.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

It's 58 with 75 the high and partly to mostly cloudy during the day. It appears as though the low will be in the low 60s tonight.

I'm holding good thoughts for Susie and DH.

I need to do some more laundry today and vacuum seal the chicken breasts that I bought for $.89 a lb. I'll get some more before they go off sale. The butcher shop in my grocery store cuts up the chickens for the various pieces themselves and use the pullets, where the big chicken places use hens and the breasts are tough.

It's nice to have the fireplace taking the chill off in the cool mornings. It will heat the place up when it's really cold. It's nice to have it in case the power goes out.

Good for Isabella. Shadow is back to her turkey, chicken, and beef canned food this morning. Those have lots of gravy compared to the fish, and that's what she likes.

Good morning, all. We have 48F with rain, heading for 58F and some more rain.

It's Sunday so laundry is underway. It's sheets week. Ugh. I trust my mentee, Badhorsie, is tending to her laundry, too. emoticon

CBS says I can watch Brick's Steelers play the Browns this morning, so that will be good, given that the Seahawks have a bye week this week. The Steelers come on at 10:00 AM my time, which means I'll miss part of it during Jackson's 11:00 walk but, given the rain, we probably won't tarry out there.

I'm relieved the Colorado fires didn't reach Susie. I hope the rest of you things are also having a relaxing morning.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

The latest Colorado fire came way too close for comfort, we were quite close to the areas that were being evacuated, so we packed up all the important documents, old family photos, Mr. Queue's guitars, my flute, some keepsake jewelry and my mother's silverware, other odds and ends, and a couple of suitcases with enough clothes to get by for a bit.

Fortunately, the evacuation warning for our town was lifted around midnight, so I got some fitful sleep, awaking to an "all clear" notice for now. We got a bit of drizzle, but they are warning that the winds may pick up again today in the foothills, so we're still paying attention.

Here are a couple of links to articles about the fire and a map of the evacuation areas:

CalWood fire in Boulder County update for Sunday

The boxes and suitcases are still by the back door leading to the garage so we can load up the car quickly to head east if the need arises. Our older son and his wife are all packed and ready to go, too, just in case.

PS - We are in Longmont, which extends out to 75th street, which was where the evacuations extended from highway 36 that runs from Boulder north to Lyons. The Boulder County Fairgrounds, where people were bringing their horses and other livestock, is about 5 minutes from our house.
