I hope the hurricane is staying well north of Brick, but its band of rain is so wide I can't really tell.

Hello, all. We’ve had some showers but nothing heavy or sustained. The panhandle got hammered. I think Pensacola got 30 inches of rain in 4 hours yesterday. Thanks for the thoughts, Robbie.

I took another quick stab at trying to open the drain manually. No success. I have one more try with the power auger before I call a plumber. It will be a week before the new auger arrives so that project is on hold until then. There are other chores to be done in the meantime so I’ll be staying as busy as I want to be.

Today is Eva’s birthday. We’re going to do a Zoom party later I’m glad we have the option, but...

Stay well, everyone.

Iced tea, please, Tana.

Thanks for checking in, Brick. As you know, Mom worries. emoticon

Let's hope that by next year Eva's birthday party can be in-person. Not being able to be with grandkids must be a real loss to those who have them.

Thanks, I hope so too. It really is the worst aspect of the adjustments we’ve made in our new way of life, Robbie. And we’re really more fortunate than many in that we can see the kids here, poolside from time to time and maintain safe distances outside. But we miss the hugs.

AQ got down to 73, so I had a really good PT session, and afterward got gasoline and groceries. Isn't it interesting to have to plan going out around whether the air is breathable? Everyone else was seizing the 73 opportunity too. Safeway was packed. We're going to get cricks in our necks turning our heads away from each other.

Wow, Belle, I hope your AQI is suggestive of things to come near me. I just checked and it's 153 here.

Glad you had a good PT session and got errands run.

Time: 6:30 AM PDT today

Place: My house

SFX: Ringing phone

Me, after crossing the hall to the closest phone: Hello?

Unfamiliar male voice: Hello, my name is...

Me: What kind of idiot calls at 6:30 AM?

Unfamiliar male voice: I'll call any time I want, you !@#$ !@#$.

Cooter, I am SO glad Ward reached out to you! That is SUCH a good sign. Best wishes to BOTH of you!

Robbie, that's right about the point that I would scream my shrillest scream right into the telephone. What a jerk!

How neat of you to take care of your cousin's and other people's food needs. You're a lifeline for them.

Well. That certainly wasn't a Southern gentleman that called Roberta! I wonder where that came from? Surely it wasn't a robo that early!

A couple of days ago a woman with an accent called me about my CPAP stuff that it's time for. Her English was very good and when I asked she said that she wasn't in the U. S. of A. She was a big help with a couple of questions that I had and knew her stuff. I made sure that I gave her great props for her Supervisor to listen to.

I just assumed he was a Trump supporter.

How nice to get someone who is actually helpful!

Morning, Rumpions.

It's 58 degrees here and foggy. AQ 38! It's such a relief to have good air again. Robbie, I hope your air is good too.

Good morning, all. Today is yard work day, weather permitting. Right now It looks like the weather will cooperate. I’m waiting until 9 before I start. That’s my to do list for the day.

I hope all you things are resting peacefully, gathering the energy to seize the day. 🙂 or at least reclaiming enough energy to be reasonably comfortable.

Coffee, please, Tanya. I have time for another leisurely cup before I start the mowing. I welcome the break from my plumbing adventures. *g*

Good morning, all. We have 53F with thick fog and smoke, heading for 66F with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. My AQI is reading 149. I'm cheered that yours is so low, Belle, because that may mean the region is starting to clear.

I'm disappointed that the forecasters keep moving our expected rain farther away. They're still saying we'll have "widespread smoke" before 11 PM tonight and the air quality alert remains in effect until 10 AM Saturday.

My kids and I are not having dinner together tonight because it will either be smokey or raining or both on my patio. I am truly tired of this, but Oregon and California have it much worse.

It's looking like another indoor day.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

It's 70 and mostly sunny with some clouds with 81 the high!!

It's hard to find something funnier than a wound up cat. Shadow has been on a roll for about a week during playtime now. Talk about paws and claws on the rugs! They are so quick!

I need to make a grocery run today. DD is feeling a lot better after a shot and some meds. I had some meatballs in the freezer so she made spaghetti and meatballs last night and cleaned up. She said that it was some kind of shot that I don't remember that made her hungry and gave her some energy!

If my corn that I bought last week is still good I'll put it and chicken in the smoker for supper along with purple hulls or something for a veggie.

I shaved and washed my hair before supper last night.....it was like mowed my face and I almost need a haircut.

I hope that everyone gets a good Friday. Good air for Belle and I'm sorry that dinner with the kids won't happen for Robbie because of the weather.

I'm sorry you'll miss dinner with the kids tonight, Robbie. I hope the air quality will improve soon. As much as Belle's improved, that gives some hope.

Brick, I hope you were able to get your yard work done. We have bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky. It's only 59 -- a little nippy for me. But it was this cold front that kept Sally south of us, and it's NOT snowing, so I refuse to complain!

Belle, where are you getting AQI information? I'm using Purple Air at https://www2.purpleair.com/ and it's showing an AQI of 99 at Coupeville.

You seem to be getting a far different number.
