Re: The Rumpus Room II

Hi to all you Things.

I offer my support and empathy to Brick in his loss and hope he is feeling better from whatever is wrong.

As usual, I relate to Cooter's pain and admire him for how he handles it. Much better than I do.

I worry about Belle and Robbie and the smoke, the effects on their health and that of their pets. If you can, you should purchase pulse oximeters to monitor your oxygen levels. They also measure your heart rate. You can buy them at a drugstore or by mail order for around $25. They've been kind of sold out due to Covid, but they are a handy addition to your first aid kit. It must be freaky to have things close by obliterated from view. I hope the weather pattern changes and creates cleaner air for you.

Thanks for your good wishes, Badhorsie. And maybe you've brought the change; it started raining here about an hour ago.

Morning, things. It's 59 here, and the air quality is 151, down from 159 at 2 a.m., so maybe it will be below 150 at 9:45, when I'm due at the rehab center for PT. It's not raining here yet, Robbie, but I'm glad it's raining there.

I hope all of you things who were suffering on Monday will feel better today. I know you feel triumphant for getting your printer fixed, Lis. Cooter, you're BOUND to feel better today. Badhorsie is in your corner! And Shadow will be right there when you wake up. Brick, I hope you got a good night's restorative sleep and that you will leap out of bed feeling good.

Birdz, I mourn with you for the suffering your mother is going through. I hope she gets some relief from it today. If she does, you will.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COOTER!!!

And good morning, all you lovely things! We have 57F, still with smoke, heading for 71F. We had only a little bit of rain, but that little bit did drop our air quality index about ten points to 172 (that's still unhealthy). Now the forecast is that we won't get rid of this smoke until Thursday.

I can't think of anything I must do today. Sounds like a knitting day, in that case.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Happy birthday, Cooter, you Virgo, you! Virgos are really orderly. No wonder you're a lawyer and make all of those wonderful meals. I had a close friend who was a Virgo. When her grandchildren saw her coming, they ran at her and say, "Granny! What kind of pies did you bring us?" She made pies for them and took them on the airplane. She was so neat that she could do that.

It rained a little here, and the AQ came down to 143. I called to cancel by my PT for today, and the receptionist said she was about to call me and cancel because my therapist can't come in when AQ is this high. Maybe by this afternoon, it will be below 100, and I can go out and get gasoline and groceries.

Ah....now!....Coffee, please, Tanya.

It's 81 and sunny and my weather still won't work on my phone. We're looking at a high of 87 and a possible shower late, as well as tomorrow. We're not expecting much rain. The eye from Sally seems to be centered just off of the AL/MS state line.

DD is pretty congested and looks to have either a really bad cold or a regular flu. We don't need anything from the store so I'll just stay home.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Janet was going to get a few people together for lunch outside of this really good Greek restaurant. We'll have to wait until DD feels up to it.

I didn't get up until almost ten-thirty. Shadow was a good girl and didn't even come in at all. She just waits outside of the door most of the time now.

Re: The Rumpus Room II

Hello, all. I had a televisit with my VA doctor this morning. I had blood work done last Friday and we reviewed it today. It was all good. 🙂 I started taking a cholesterol drug because my neurologist described the coincidence of high cholesterol and severe neuropathy as very dangerous. I started taking a very low dose, 10 mg, about two months ago. For the first time in my memory my cholesterol is in the normal range, Total cholesterol dropped 80 points and LDL dropped 80 points. And so far no noticeable side effects.

Thanks, badhorsie, for your kind words.

I hope the rains will be followed be a stiff cleansing breeze, Robbie and Belle.

Stay well, everyone.

Good news about your cholesterol, Brick!

The sun has come out, and the air quality is at 135, but it will need to get below 100 before I feel safe going out. I'm hoping to be able to get groceries and gasoline this afternoon.

Still watching season 1 of Picket Fences. I had forgotten all of the social and legal issues that this series addressed. It's interesting to revisit the social issues of the early 90s and measure how far we have come, and how much we have regressed from how far we HAD come. Episodes have dealt with a transgender teacher who lost her job and went to court to get it back, and a dentist with HIV who lost his job and went to court to get it back. The courtroom scenes are really interesting (David E. Kelley went on to write script for The Practice and Boston Legal, after Picket Fences). It's such a mixture of comedy and drama in a small town in the Midwest moving toward the 21st century. Decades interest me enormously, I have lived through so many. Each of them has its own personality.

Happy birthday, you old Coot!!! May you have many more and be given the gift of no pain! Hope you have a delicious dinner and drinks to celebrate. If DD's not up for a party. Shadow is. Ramundo, bring Cooter a cake and some Fancy Feast in the crystal for Shadow.

Ooooooh, Badhorsie. That sounds like JUST the ticket!

Happy Birthday, Cooter! emoticon

Well, Belle, I shouldn't have celebrated so quickly. I was able to print out some necessary things for meetings today. Tonight, I tried to print some more and...the black ink gave out. It was the last of the four inks that were original to the printer. So I replaced it and... It's just spinning and spinning and spinning.... I tried to shut the printer off, and it just continues spinning, saying it's shutting down. I deleted the document from the computer, and it didn't make a difference. Darn it all. When I shut down tonight, I'll have to unplug the printer and see if it makes a difference....

So happy for your good blood test results, Brick! You must have studied hard.
