So glad you're able to work away on the pool and lanai just bits at a time, Brick.

Careful of your hands, Robbie!

Well, it was 87 yesterday before the storms came through -- and now we're at our high of 56 today. *shaking head*

Good morning, all. We have 50F with fog which is supposed to burn off to reveal sunshine and 67F.

Dave is coming over this afternoon to dig in my garden so I can plant impatiens. That is, if I can find any. The garden stores haven't had them, so far.

Where is everybody?

Coffee, please, Tanya.

51 degrees here. It was wet but not raining at 3 a.m. when I walked around the house. It's raining a little now, without much enthusiasm. It's gloomy out, but no fog.

Yesterday I ordered new glasses, and this morning I'm going to call for an appointment with an audiologist, with the goal of getting better hearing aids. When did life get so unexciting?

Well, I've been knocking the snow off my blooming iris and newly potted pansies this morning. And I had to work yesterday. And I spent the weekend working in the garden without realizing that it was going to snow last night. Mr. Queue's ankle still isn't strong enough to do any yard work, so I spiffied it up.

I am so very DONE with winter weather. It's MAY 21!!!

Hello, all. I just finished up my first three hour shift working on the pool area. I made some headway and tested the pressure washer repair at the same time. So far, so good. Today I concentrated on the pool and did a small bit of the enclosure and deck. It already looks better. I’m done for the day. 😎

Sean and his family will be here in late June and will spend around two weeks through the Fourth so this work is aimed at having everything in top shape for that time. We’re all looking forward to that.

I’ll do a little more pecking at the pool after my morning walk tomorrow. Hopefully my siblings will join me on the trail. Who knows, they might even volunteer to help afterward. *g*

Did you get your reusable k-cup, Robbie?

Yes, it finally arrived a couple of days ago. It came with two sets of instruction -- one for "plus" types and one for "classic" types of Keurigs. It took me most of an afternoon to find someplace on some Keurig site that would tell me which models were which. Evidently I have a "classic" type.

So I opened those instructions. I have no idea what they're telling me. Son Dave is coming here at 1:00 to dig a hole for me to plant impatiens and to tell me what the instructions say.

GAWD I hate the modern era!

Robbie, I've said for years that these companies need to hire TEACHERS to write their instructions! I mean, who is better at instructing than instructors??? Good luck getting your Keurig and impatiens working!

Sounds like you're making good progress, Brick!

Snow, Susie? Ugh....

After a low of 44, we're up to 55 for the day. Rainy again. The big mess of storms is slowly marching our direction. Looks like tomorrow may be the day.... The forecast says 80 for tomorrow. I'll believe that when I see it. The Indianapolis meteorologist said we're supposed to have thunderstorms through Sunday (everyone is watching VERY carefully, because the Indianapolis 500 is Sunday), and we're supposed to have upper 80s Thursday through Sunday. Well...I just looked at the new forecast for the rest of the week, and while the storm predictions are still there, the temp predictions have dropped to the low to mid-70s. MUCH better....

Went to lunch with friends and then ran a bunch of errands. Have the retirees' celebration dinner tonight. So many different ceremonies to attend....

We really are good for something.... Even if our state legislators are convinced we're not.... emoticon A number of corporations have picked up on that, too, and they're hiring teachers out of the public schools to do their staff training programs.

Dave came over and we planted the impatiens. Our soil around here is clay, given our proximity to volcanic mountains, so digging in it is a real chore. And you need to dig down far enough to be able to pour in a bag of good, yummy dirt for the plants to thrive. They're all settled in, now.

And then we read the instructions for the Keurig basket to make one's own coffee. Once we finished I brewed a cup. Well, it either needs more coffee than I put in the basket or it needs me to hit BOLD, or both. That was pretty darned wimpy French Roast.

I guess I'll see if I can make it get better.

Sweet tea, please.

Ward and I had a nice trip, even though was in a great deal of pain still. It got even bit worse after I did something that I knew better. Woke up Monday sick, and did well to make it home to one very happy kitty to see her Dad.

Today has been some better, although I'm not up to snuff. My hands are still giving me old man's issues.......lol.

DD is doing supper.

It is c-c-c-c-cold out there. 54 degrees with 72% humidity and winds blowing over 24 mph. Apparently that doesn't merit a wind chill. *shudder*

Just got home from the school district's retirement dinner. Very nice.

Welcome home, Cooter! I'm glad you had a nice trip, despite the pain.

So glad you got your flowers in, Robbie. Good luck with your new coffee basket!

I'm sorry to see you were in pain and were sick, Cooter. I know how much you were looking forward to that trip and it's unfortunate you weren't feeling your best.

I hope Shadow's purrs help.

We just got through playing some before I go to bed. We were on the back porch the second night and even though I wasn't doing much with the fish and dealing with physical ailments, being there together is worth it all. He did well with the trout. I caught enough for one meal.....lol.

I've only got a few places that I can safely fish from now with my physical and balance issues. We didn't drink much and really haven't for a few years now, not that we would get hammered or anything. I took my weed and a couple of pipes so we smoked a little. First time for me in quite some time. Something like two years, I guess.

DD did baked cod and Ceasar salad for supper. Yum! Hopefully, my legs and sciatica will let me finish putting stuff away tomorrow. I have my neurologist yearly followup tomorrow, and I have several things to discuss with him other than what the pain clinic is dealing with.

Most of us have known each other a very long time, but it's still hard to see the tangible results of aging. I hurt to see you hurt, Cooter. I'm sure you're getting the best medical care available, especially given that you live in Oxford, but I constantly want to ask your medical folks why you have to hurt so much of the time. It just doesn't seem right.

I'm glad being there with your son was worth it. I know you've cherished that fishing trip over a lot of years and, even if fishing wasn't what it used to be, it was still valuable time with your son. That's worth a lot.

And good on DD for making a yummy dinner. That must have felt like a good welcome home, on top of Shadow's happiness to play with you.

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 72 and partly sunny at present with a predicted high of eighty-eight.

Things are a little better today.....so far....lol. I've got some things from the trip that I need to put away, so hopefully, I'll be able to finish that.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I suspect that a nap will be in order this morning.

53 this morning and cloudy, but too light to see stars by the time I got out there. It looks pretty dry out there. My audiologist appointment is at 11.

I'm glad you're home, cooter, where your cat can ease your pain. She sounds like a forgiving cat. Cats get a bad reputation when some of them punish you for a while after you've left them.

I used to have one who would pout for 3 days if I stayed gone more that one night.
