Me, too, Belle. Brick, will it stay far enough away from you?

I hope your injection site cools down for you, Birdz.

Hey, Lis, I forgot my manners. I’m glad Andrew appears to be on the mend, and I’m glad your mom is taking the antidepressant. When I went on Cymbalta, the doctor told me it would take two weeks to kick in. He was right. It has been a big help.

I just looked up the side effects of the Shingrix (shingles) vaccine, and they list redness around the injection site as a mild side effect. I have a red area around 3” in diameter around the injection site, but hopefully this will keep me from getting shingles. I’ve seen how miserable it made three people, including my mom.

Yes... Brett's father and grandparents all had shingles at different times. His father's case was especially serious because it started in his scalp and moved down to his eye. Thank goodness it stopped there....

Would it help to put an ice bag or a heating pad on the injection site if it gets too bad?

Thanks for your good thoughts for Andrew and Mom. Mom was on Cymbalta for years for her arthritis, but then the doctor took her off of it for a specific reason -- heart? She was mortified that it had an antidepressant effect. Just makes me sad that she feels that way, because mental health issues are SO prevalent in our family....

I'm so glad it has worked well for you. I am on Lexapro, and it has helped me a lot to help keep issues managed. emoticon

It looks like the storm will pass well to the east of us although we’re just outside the western side of the cone, Lis. We will probably get lots of rain. We’re watching closely.

Belle, Kenny Burrell has been my most recent favorite. He’s a great jazz guitarist. I have Apple Music and there is access to an unbelievable amount of music of every kind. We got it with our cell phone family plan. I love it.

Birdz, when I got the Shingrix vaccine the injection site was sore for days. I think that's pretty common.

58 here this morning, with stars. I'm hoping for sun again today, and lots of walking. I haven't been digging or lopping lately because I don't want to further agitate my left arm. I'm supposed to start PT on that arm on August 11, but I'm rethinking doing that because of the increase in new cases of COVID on Whidbey in July.

Good morning, all. We have 61F with some puffy white clouds, heading for 75F and sunshine.

Belle, how close does the physical therapist have to get in order for you to work on your arm?

My kids and I didn't have patio dinner last night because it was too hot on my patio. At least, it was around 3:30 when I told them that. By 5:30 clouds and some breeze had moved in, and we probably could have eaten comfortably out there. Darn.

I don't seem to have an agenda for today, so I'll see what happens when it does.

I hope all you things are starting the day well.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Not close to my face, Robbie, and the therapist no doubt gets tested frequently and sterilizes everthing; but I sometimes have to wait when I get there, with other people.

Waiting with other people could be a concern. I did keep my appointment Monday for a routine teeth-cleaning and rather than have anyone wait we were all told to stay outside, six feet apart, and phone when we arrived. Then the hygienists with whom we had appointments would open the front door and fetch us.

They are now seeing only half of their patients to keep the number of people inside lower than usual.

You might call your therapist's office to see how they're handling it.

Coffee, please, Tanya....and make it stop.

It's just 72 at almost eleven o'clock with a high of 80 predicted. I would love this but we keep having little fronts and cells passing through and of course my knees are trying to take me to the County Trash Dump or whatever it's actually called.

I felt like I was starting to get some relief last night, but I woke up this morning with that same ole' feeling, and sure 'nuff....it was wet outside.

I looked at DD's Kroger ticket this morning, and I guess I didn't make it clear that this was NOT a retail therapy trip. OK....I spent $116 at my grocery store like Tuesday, I think it was, and she went for $250 last night. There is zero room in the fridge for the milk that I will need in no more than two days. At least I have gobs of blueberries to go on the phantom cereal that she didn't get from the top of the list.

There's a few more things left to get at Walmart and if I can come to life I'll go get them myself if I can find a cart.

Hello, all. I started a post this morning, got distracted, got involved in various phone calls, and light chores. All is well here and hope the same is true for all you things.

We’re watching Isaias carefully. Right now it looks like it won’t have much of an impact here.

I’m watching the NY Rangers. It’s nice to have hockey watch again.

Iced tea, please, Tanya. It’s hot here. Outside. *g*

We had an all-day gentle rain Thursday.... Beautiful sunshine yesterday.... And we're back to rain again today. One big batch went through this morning; another is headed our way.

Nothing new here....

Gorgeous day here. I had a walk around the neighborhood, looking up at the trees and the copious white clouds, which made the blue of the sky even more striking around them.

Lunch was tomato bisque soup with celery and pinto beans, and yams. Today I enjoyed lunch instead of not thinking about it much, which is what I usually do. My stepbrother used to say, "Food is for weaklings."

Yo, Cooter, do any of the local grocery stores that take online orders for either delivery or curbside pickup? That’s how I shop these days, and I haven’t set foot inside a grocery store in months. I’ve had pretty good luck with the quality of the fresh produce - no overripe bananas, for instance. I also can shop at three different stores without wearing myself out.

Robbie - that’s how my dentist handles patients these days. Apparently my PCP does as well, since I was told to call the office from my car when I arrive for my appointment next week and wait for someone to escort me into the office. They are also doing more virtual visits, but this was a visit that the doctor wanted to see me come in. I’m guessing that My next visit will be virtual.

Just want to say hi. Glad everyone is doing at least reasonably well with their situations. I do read here even if I don't feel like posting.

Am struggling with isolation, national events and how they've changed me into someone I don't really like, as well as affecting some interpersonal relationships.

Hi, Badhorsie! Sorry you’re struggling. You’ve been isolated while convalescing, no fun.

Mom called me on my cell and asked me why I took her cane the last time I visited. I calmly told her that I hadn’t. She hung up. No phone manners at all.

A couple minutes later she called on my landline and said that she wanted her cane back. Again, I told her, calmly, that I didn’t have it. She said she didn’t believe me and hung up.

Sorry you're struggling, Badhorsie. I suspect we all are to some extent, although probably not with all the things impinging on your life.

I'm glad you checked in. As you know, Mom worries. emoticon
