I hope your new doctor will be great, Belle!

Your Christmas decorations sound like a great way to improve moods, Badhorsie. Enjoy your wine! emoticon

We're in the zone for severe weather and tornadoes today. Already under a severe storm watch as everything begins to come this way. I sure hope no one has significant damage from the storms. Can you imagine a disaster shelter where everyone has to stay six feet away from others?

That sounds impossible, Lis. I was thinking what a disaster a power outage would be at this time.

Belle, are you gifted with premonitions?

We just went under a wind warning for 8 am to 8 pm tomorrow, with winds gusting to 50.

I hope everyone is staying safe.

I still have this sore throat, but that’s it. I had one of my rare insomniac episodes last night, so I’m tired today.

Amadeus is being a pain in the ass, with grating vocalizaciones. He seems to enjoy the attention he gets when DH or I tell him to shut up, but ignoring him doesn’t make him stop.

I hope I'm not gifted with that kind of premonition, Lis. I'm willing your power to stay on.

Aw, Amadeus! Give the lady a break!

Well, so far, so good. There have been 1" and 1.5" hail reports, but they've all passed just south of us (and a couple just north of us).

I don't have a chance to watch the NBC Nightly News much, but tonight, they actually named our city with the GM plant that's rehiring 1,000 workers to make the ventilators. Somehow, I was under the impression that ALL of the GM plants were helping, but no, it's just us. I can't figure out why the CURRENT ventilator manufacturers don't just put on extra shifts, rather than retooling an auto manufacturer.

There's a plane with 5 passengers on board: Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Pope Francis, Angela Merkel, and a 10-year-old schoolboy. The plane is about to crash and there are only 4 parachutes. Trump says: "I need one. I’m the smartest man in the world and am needed to make America great again." He takes one and jumps. Johnson says, "I’m needed to sort out Britain." He takes one and jumps. The Pope says, "I need one as the world needs the Catholic Church." He takes one and jumps. Merkel says to the 10-year old boy: "You can have the last parachute. I've lived my life, yours is only just starting." The 10-year-old replies: "Don’t worry, there are 2 parachutes left. The smartest man in the world took my school bag.”'

Well, the National Weather Service no more than dropped all of the Severe Storm Watches than a tornado dropped about an hour east of us. No reports yet to say what happened....

I know this is just petty vanity, but I really want a haircut and manicure, and I know that won’t happen till all this !@#$ is behind us!

Well that depends on your and your stylist's willingness to cheat.

Well, Robbie, I’d say that none of us, the stylist, the manicurist, nor I, are willing to cheat, but every time I see my new sheepdog look in the mirror or look at my nails, the vanity I thought I was above comes out. At least I’m no longer a young woman wanting to make myself attractive for all those guys. DH loves me as I am.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

It's 59 this morning and mostly sunny after the cold front and the storms came through. Our high is looking to be around 72 with sun. More boomers tomorrow night. We got some rain and as little DD used to say, it was punder and litenin.

It's a wonder I haven't destroyed my house and everything in it. I just knock stuff over and drop things like the second of my favorite coffee cups which leaves me with two. I do still have some one of a kind cups that I bought on my various excursions down in the Keys. It's a wonder that I still have those.

DD did a wonderful dinner with the pork roast flavored with some great stuff that she mixed together along with carrots, parsnips, small gold potatoes, and something else that I can't remember.....lol. We will now do our pot roasts in the Ez-pot as a pressure cooker. That roast was wonderfully tender!

Now I have to think of something to do for supper. Janet has talked me out of going to Memphis Thursday for the neuropathy consult. She's looking out for me because the virus is spreading quickly now up there, and she is admittedly paranoid about it. I was going to buy her and DD lunch but we can do that another time. She tells me in detail how she takes care of going to the bank.....lol! It's a wonder she isn't wiping the ground where she walks.

That left sciatic nerve trunk seems to be pissed off at me for some reason. It's giving me a rough time. I think I'll go get the paper and fix breakfast.

Good morning, all. We have 48F with light rain, heading for 52F and some more light rain. It's a bit breezy out there, too.

Cooter, I'm glad DD fixed such a wonderful dinner last night, and I'm glad Janet is looking out for you. You said you were going to buy Janet and DD lunch -- are your restaurants still open?

It's laundry day and it's underway. That may be the chief excitement for the day.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room II

The (virtual) Boulder County Democratic Party Assembly yesterday was very well run and extremely interesting. I haven't heard the results of the voting yet, but I'm pretty sure my down-ballot candidates will have won.

It turns out that Governor Hickenlooper was not on the assembly's ballot, as he has already qualified for the primary via having enough petition signatures. So I reserved my vote on that one to remain an "uncommitted" delegate in case they appoint me to be a delegate to the state convention. That gives me more time to consider who else I would like to see on the primary ballot. There are some interesting candidates out there!

This morning, we participated in a "virtual" church service, which was actually very nice. It was good to see so many people from our church, since we can't get together with them in person.

This afternoon, I'm hoping to go for a walk with the "kids" and the abracadabrador, Bella, practicing the prescribed "social distancing." Most likely that will be at the lovely reservoir east of town that features a great view of the Front Range mountains. In the meantime, I need to do a bit of laundry and figure out something for dinner. A grilled steak and veggies sounds good, since the weather is sunny and pleasant enough for cooking on the back deck.

Stay well, all you things!
