I was grateful for the Denver bye yesterday. We'll see how they do next Sunday night.

Meanwhile the KC Chiefs have been impressive, which doesn't bode well for the Broncos at the end of this month...

Right now the Chiefs are the team to beat. They're undefeated, but they're that good.

I was surprised the Niners came so close! Congrats to your Colts, Lis!

I thought the ceremonies honoring Peyton were wonderful. The PR stunt from VP Pence, not so much. He hadn't been to a football game for 3 years, and HE is allowed to protest but the players are not?

I think the Colts were inspired that Peyton was back. emoticon

Now, Susie, doesn't Pence look like a football kinda guy to you? No doubt his eyes were glazing over and he was confused by it all. Hot, sweaty men with their hands all over each other -- especially the quarterback with his hands between the legs of the.... A fan for Mr. Pence, please. He seems to have fainted at the sight....

Heh heh heh, Susie!

Hey, Cooter! I jumped all the way up to 31st place after the last NASCAR race! What the heck happened???

This week is Talladega, and stupid AT&T Uverse still has NBC off the air. It has been two months. Brett is ready to put us back on Comcast -- and I didn't think I'd ever hear THOSE words.

Man.... I really look forward to Talladega....

I had two guys wreck early. The other three did fine. Team score wasn't too good, though.

The Steelers have a real test today against the Chiefs and it comes on the heels of a disappointing loss against the Jags and a terrible performance by Ben. How the team and Ben respond to the adversity will be telling.

GO STEELERS!!!

Good luck, Susie, Lis, and Cooter. I hope the Seahawks make the most of their bye week.

My hockey Rangers continue to disappoint. They are 1-5 after the first six games of the season. *sigh*

Whew! That game turned into a nail biter after 3 quarters of total domination by the Steelers. Credit the Chiefs with hanging tough but it was a big win for Pittsburgh.

GO STEELERS!!!

Fine win by the Steelers.
Saints win in a wild [sign in to see URL].
Skins win.
Giants have no chance against Alabama.

Good grief, Cooter. AT&T FINALLY made up with our Indianapolis NBC affiliate JUST in time for the Talladega race! But I had plans to attend a concert this afternoon and the reception that followed into this evening, so I set it to record.... Good heavens, were there ANY cars left at the end of the race? The thing went well past four hours, because the race was set to record for 4.5 hours, and it cut off with 18 laps to go! Goodness....

That was DEFINITELY a big win, Brick! The Chiefs had been unstoppable until yesterday!

Re: Sports Scoreboard

The Colorado Buffaloes barely eked out a win Saturday against the Oregon State Beavers, but a win is a win, I suppose.

And a loss is a loss, but losing to the Giants is a real blow for the Broncos. I guess that bye week hurt more than it helped.

I was sorry to see Aaron Rogers knocked out of the Packers game vs. the Vikings with a broken collarbone. Commentators said he might be out for the rest of the season...

Ugh, Cooter. I had gotten all the way up to 31st place -- and fell to 39th again because of yesterday's race. Sheesh!

Sorry about Denver's loss, Susie. I hated to see Aaron Rogers go down too.

Sorry about the Colts, Lis. Like Cooter said, weird week.

Maybe Andrew Luck will be able to return to the Colts soon, Lis?

Broncos suffered quite a few injuries in Sunday night's game, too, Brick.

Brissette isn't exactly chopped liver. With more experience, he could be pretty good.
