This level of support and lack of sleep is not sustainable, but I'll bet they're feeling more than a little proud of the response they're getting!

Buenos dias!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 60 and clear this AM. We'll see lows in the mid-40s tonight.

Kim comes to clean today. I could use a little run to Wally World, but I may wait until tomorrow. I still have to figure supper.

Good morning, all. We're starting out at 37F with just a few wispy clouds, heading for a high of 61F.

Dave is working tomorrow evening, so I'm having Friday night dinner with my kids tonight. I'm still hearing tales from their vacation in Greece.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Good afternoon, everybody. 77F here, cloudy, chance of thundershowers. I think I felt a bit of a spritz on my way to the dentist.

The dentist could find no reason for the sensitivity I was complaining about. He noted that I have some old amalgam fillings, and since he stopped using amalgam about 18 years ago, about the time I started seeing him, that means those fillings are at least that old. However, he’s in no hurry to replace them.

I was talking to the hygienist about my electric tooth brush (a seemingly decadent piece of equipment that helped me reverse early stage gum disease once I started using one). I complained about it only has a two minute timer, with no 30-sec timers in between to help me know when to stop brushing in one quadrant. I ended up buying one from her that actually meets my “.requirements.” Not only that, it will speak to my iPhone. I can download an app and get critiqued on what I’m missing. I don’t think 97 yo Mama Birdz could handle that kind of technology.

It’s raining steadily right now with a light breeze. It looks like those of us who live in the center of the county have dodged the bullet. Hooray for dodging a bullet!

Thanks for checking in, Brick.

Thank you, Robbie. We had a little lingering rain this morning, but that was the worst of it for us. The schools have been closed to be used as shelters, should the need arise. Fortunately there was very little need to use them, and schools will reopen tomorrow and things will return to normal here.

I'm so glad to see your report, Brick! Thanks for keeping us informed.

Man, some of the pictures coming out of the areas first -- and hardest -- hit are just jaw-dropping.

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 52 and sunny this AM in Cooterville. A high of 70 will feel nice once it warms up.

I've looked at some video and pictures of where Michael came ashore at Mexico City, FL. It looks like the city dump. I feel bad for those people. Their very lives are gone.

I've got to run a few errands today. I don't have a big list for the store, just some things that I need.

Good morning, all. We're starting at a balmy 52F with some high fog, heading for clearing and 62F. Another nice day!

I've been putting off doing a major grocery run but I may need to admit the need and go do it. When I'm out of fresh produce it's hard to pretend any longer.

Cooter, you're right that Mexico Beach looks completely devastated. I wonder if they even want to try to rebuild. If storms are becoming more severe, they could get wiped out again.

Coffee, please, Tanya, while we watch the sunrise.

Yeah, Mexico Beach sure does look awful. It doesn’t look like the kind of place I’d want to live.

58F, sunny and breezy here. I’ll make a run to CVS for script pickups for both DH and myself, plus get some Flonase for myself. Allergies are killing me.

My latest medical insurance statement shows that I’ve hit my annual catastrophic protection limit, so for the rest of the year I’ll have no more payments nor copays. All over one pesky toe.

I think I’ll keep using my cane outdoors for now, because I think wearing a therapeutic sandal on one foot and a Different shoe (I use a Croc) on the other leaves me slightly off balance. During very short walks in slippers from bed to bathroom, I feel like my balance is better.

Any news on Kudo, Robbie?

Birdz, thank you and Lis for asking about Kudo. With two vets out of a four-vet office, my guess is the remaining two are just overwhelmed and limiting their call-back time to emergencies. I don't expect I'm going to hear from anyone.

Meanwhile, I've upped Kudo's medication from 0.7 mL to [sign in to see URL] mL, something Kudo's vet told me I could do if I thought it was time. She seems in less pain and is letting me pet her again, but I think she really does have some kind of doggy dementia.

When Kudo's vet gets back in the office in a couple of weeks I'll call again.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Hello, all. After a hot and muggy day yesterday the weather has returned to the cooling trend that was interrupted by Michael. It was 67 this morning when Shiva and I took our first walk and tomorrow it is expected to be in the high 50s but the afternoons are still expected to top out in the 90s. That will be changing soon though. I’ll enjoy the cooler mornings and take advantage of the AC in the afternoons until they cool down. One of the things that I enjoy about the cooler weather is that Sandy and I both make soups and stews for the season, one pot meals and comfort food at the same time. We’re looking forward to that.

I’m glad to see that you can get close to Kudo again, Robbie.

I just got a timely call from my survivorship nurse. There is a program that is a collaboration between Medicare and the Cancer Research Institute that assigns nurses to patients as they go through treatments and beyond. I am now in the Survivorship Program. It was timely because I’ve been experiencing digestive issues since the treatments and I wanted to know whether it would be ok for me to take probiotics to try to reestablish digestive balance. She told me it would be ok and that she, in fact, recommended it.

Sandy and I are continuing to enjoy the uneventfulness of recent months. Quiet is good. 😎

So glad that you have that program, Brick. It sounds like a good resource. I look forward to Brett's Friday night chili again, too.

Glad the little bit of extra med is helping Kudo, Robbie.

Hope you can work past the allergies, Birdz. Glad you're getting for walks!

Cooter, hope you were able to get your errands done.

I've been running non-stop this week. 10:30 am to 9:30 pm last night, 9:00 am this morning until a brief break starting at 4:00 pm today -- and then back out 6:00 to probably 11:00. Tired....

BTW, I had a surprise mammogram yesterday. Was at the doctor (being a good girl) for the mandatory every-three-months A1C follow-up visit when I realized she had sent in an order three months ago and I was supposed to make an appointment. Um, oops.

Here's the good news. She said that because October is for breast cancer awareness, the local mammography lab was having walk-in appointments, and the cost was only $80. I have no clue if that's true everywhere, but if it could happen here, it might be available in other places, too. So if you've been bad like me and you're due for that mammogram, October might be the month to check it out!

Ummmm.... Just took a quick look at the radar in preparation for going out. It's been quite cool (with frost) for the last two days, and now it's been raining this afternoon.

Ummmm.... There's BLUE in several places on the darn radar. BLUE??? Yeah. It's snowing nearby. We are supposed to go down to 32 tonight. It's currently 41 with a wind chill of 33. Monday and Tuesday, we were in the mid-80s!!!

And the squirrels have been going absolutely CRAZY around here. I've never seen so many squirrels in my life. And they're gathering like crazy. I don't like the looks of it at all.... Still need to get out and look at the wooly worms....

That does sound like a good program that Brick has. Good luck with everything.

That's good news about The Empress. Shadow has been concerned.

I got the stuff done but unfortunately didn't get a couple of things on the list. *sigh* It was a really bad afternoon, though. I was in a lot of really severe pain, and couldn't wait to get home. I had already taken my allotted painkillers for the day, so had to resort to the liquid kind. I know that's bad for you, but I don't care. I'm hoping that this is just the remnants of my stupid exercise debacle. We don't really have cold weather yet.

Aw, Cooter, I'm sorry it was such a painful end to the day. I hope you got some relief.

Yeah, it snowed tonight. The ground is still too warm for it to stick -- it was in the mid-80s 72 hours ago, for heaven's sake! But still, a ton of big, fluffy flakes....

*whine*

Guten Morgen!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 59 and cloudy here at the farm, with rain likely late this afternoon and tonight. The high looks to be 70 again.

Things are better this morning. Close to normal, I guess. I'm doing cheeseburgers for lunch today and tomorrow. DD is supposed to make some chicken soup for suppers.

Good morning, all. We have 45F with what looks like clear skies, heading for a high of 63F.

Lis, SNOW? In the first part of October? Ye gawds!

I'm glad your day is starting off better, Cooter. You deserve it after yesterday afternoon.

Brick, the Survivorship Program sounds like it will be very helpful. Do they ever bring participants together to share ideas?

I'm going to a "do" at my yarn shop in the late afternoon. Other than that I have nothing on the agenda.

Coffee, please, Tanya.
