Good evening/morning everyone (dependent upon one’s geography. We just finished dinner. And my daughter and son-in-law are paying for dinner by doing the dishes. Becky and my mother are doing their thing. Which leaves me alone. So i will have that cup of espresso please.

Happy birthday wishes Cooter. Hope you had a great day.

Birdz, i am so sorry to hear of you being cooped up. I know how slow some recoveries can be.

Not much happening around here. Guess i need to find something to read in order to pass the time.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes.

I have a boneless turkey breast in the smoker with collard greens and field peas working on the stove. DD is here, so it's a nice day.

I talked to Janet this morning. This is her first day without anyone other than herself. She's doing as well as can be expected.

Happy birthday, Cooter!

So glad for your good test results, Brick! You're right that Ol' Perf's birthday is tomorrow. Don't know about Forde's....

Hi, Hawk!

That handicap placard sounds like a good idea, Birdz. So when you're able to get out, you'll be ready. Hang in there. Good news is that you're home in your own bed and can eat the food YOU enjoy! emoticon

Belle, what kind of things do they say about Pisces? emoticon

A Very Bad Dog lives at my house.

The Very Bad Dog has taken a dislike to her afternoon walk and becomes Little Miss Defiant Face when forced to come along. Today I'd had enough and hauled her little furry butt back home after only a few steps. I'M not the one who usually needs an afternoon walk.

Lis, Pisces are selfless, they are always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back. Pisces is a Water sign and as such this zodiac sign is characterized by empathy and expressed emotional capacity. Their ruling planet is Neptune, so Pisces are more intuitive than others and have an artistic talent.

I know from experience that all of that is true. My husband was a Piscarian, and my sister is one. Coincidentally, my sister's husband and I are both Scorpios.

A Very Good Dog went on her evening walk very happily, and was a credit to all dogdom. And she did lots of bidness.

Thanks, Belle. emoticon All sounds true except artistic -- though if you count music and poetry, I'm there. Stick people are a struggle for me when it comes to the visual arts. emoticon

I'll bet the Empress won't take long to learn exactly how much she needs those afternoon walks, Robbie. Very Good Dog! emoticon

Still looking for that squirrel, though.... *G*

Good morning, all. We have 57F and rain, with a forecast high of 62F and thundershowers. A good day to be in, doing laundry like a good girl.

I don't have a football game today -- Seahawks are playing the Bears Monday night -- so I'll root for all of your teams today.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Buon giorno!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 86 already headed for the low nineties. Another tough night trying to sleep. I just can't get in a position to where that area around my lower spine and coccyx isn't keeping me awake.

To make matters worse, Shadow decided that I needed to get up around a quarter to five. I managed to doze some on and off with a cat crawling on me and meowing at times. Finally got up and hit the recliner for a nap. Shadow wants attention.

I've had a sneezing fit and my sinuses are running some. The right one has quit by the left one may not be through. I don't feel so hot so took some meds.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Morning, Rumpions: It's 56 degrees, windy, and pouring.

Rather than being depressing, the rain seems to be perking me up. Yesterday was an ordeal. I got up feeling out of gas, and went to a memorial in the afternoon for a good friend's wife, who died a month ago. Her husband, two sons and their wives, and three grandchildren, told funny stories about her that had the room rocking. It was not a solemn occasion.

I did not know her well, except for stories her husband had told me over the years. He and I met here on Whidbey in the 1990s, and discovered that we had gone to the same high school in Kilgore, Texas. He was in a grade below mine, but we didn't know each other then. It was a big high school.

He and his wife were totally devoted to each other, but they didn't have the same friends. The first thing she said to me when we met was, "Frank and I have nothing in common." They were the perfect example of opposites attract. He talked about her all the time. She died a few days before what would have been their 60th anniversary.

It was good to meet their children and grandchildren, and to see what pleasant, fun-loving people they are.

Oh, THERE is your halo, securely back in place, Robbie! emoticon

I'm glad the memorial was a good one, Belle. Those that spark fond memories are the best.

I hope you'll get a nap in, Cooter. Must be something in the air. I couldn't get to sleep, and then I'd doze but couldn't STAY asleep.

Working the community concert today, and then attending the artist reception afterward; it's always an all-day thing.

Have a good day, everyone!

Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning, all. I’m as nervous as a cat this morning. It’s pretty much typical for me before my appointment with my oncologist. And my appointment was changed from 9:30 this morning to 4 PM leaving me a whole day to angst. There are a few questions I have about a couple of things that I’ve noticed which will need to be addressed. I’ll spend the day trying to remain calm. I’ll be doubling up my anti-anxiety med.

I still feel pretty good and to this point the worry has been baseless. I hope that will prove to be the case today.

Good morning, all. It's 53F with mostly blue skies, heading for a high of 63F. We're supposed to be sunny today and tomorrow, then back into the rain on Wednesday.

Brick, I'll hold good thoughts for you this afternoon. I'm sorry you have to wait the whole angst-filled day for it.

I have a 2:00 PM appointment with my doctor today regarding the results of the lung functioning test. Her nurse, when she called, mentioned the possibility of COPD. I am a proud graduate of the University of Google Medical School and, while I see a few symptoms that match, I see more that don't.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Good morning, everyone! It’s 75F and cloudy. It rained earlier and may rain again.

Today was “lab day” at the infusion center, and when the nurse drew blood, I started feeling anxious. Last week’s blood draw was what earned me an overnight stay in the hospital with the sodium issue, and I’m worried. Probably without need, since I’ve been salting my food and I’m off the diuretic.

The home health physical therapist came for my initial assessment and left me with “homework:” [Miss Grundy: is my punctuation vis a vis the colon and quotation marks correct?] simple exercises to maintain strength. He said that I should take short walks outside the house, with spousal supervision, of course. He also watched me while I walked with the walker and walked up and down the stairs.

This afternoon the nurse will stop by and inspect my wound and change the dressing.

Coffee, Tanya, por favor.

Hola!

Coffee, Tanya.

It says that it's 75 outside headed for 90, but since it's after 11:00 I'm dubious.

DD is late for her doctor's appointment, which is nothing new. I've got to come up with supper and I'm thinking ribeyes. We didn't eat much yesterday, just snacking on some leftovers.
