Good morning, all. We have 55F under cloudy skies, heading for a forecast high of 71F. Still Goldilocks weather.

Lis, I hope you got to sleep after your last post. How frustrating to just lie there and be awake.

Dinner with the kids was good. We won't be doing Friday night dinner this week, either, because Dave is riding the 200-mile Seattle to Portland (known here as STP) bike ride this coming weekend. He's been in training for this for months.

It looks like everyone had a good weekend, except for Cooter with the "general blahs." I hope today is better.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Bonjour!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 81 and will be sunny when the sun gets over the trees across the street. I have a dental appointment later this AM that I hope won't show a need for surgery.

DD and I have a few things to work on later and I have to figure out supper.

Re: Bonjour!

Mornin’, folks. Today has unfolded exactly as planned, at least, so far. For me that is a rare occurrence. We walked after which I came home and added the chemicals to the pool. And I beat the heat. If the weather people are right it will be warm and humid with a slight chance of showers for the rest of the day.

I hope you’re getting some quality sleep, Lis.

I’m thinking of making pasta tonight with a simple, quick sauce. The sauce is made with pancetta, onion, crushed tomatoes, and crushed red pepper, very tasty. I saw it on the Food Network, on Giana De Laurentiis’ show and have made it before.

I see a nap on the horizon.

As I figured I'll need what is not serious dental surgery. It won't break my bank account, which is what I was afraid of, and it will fix the issue for good. This young man is really good, as is my regular dentist. I see my Primary Care Physician tomorrow, and she is awesome! It's wonderful to be able to live in such an educated community where health care is about as good as it gets.

So glad you've got that great educational and medical community, Cooter!

Glad your day is unfolding well, Brick.

Hope Dave's ride goes well, Robbie.

Finally fell asleep sometime after 6:30 am -- back up before 11 am. Thinking about getting a hot shower and trying again. emoticon

DD is trying to come to life. With her, it can be a slow [sign in to see URL]!

I don't see sunlight anywhere. Radar says! Lots of scattered wet !@#$ in the area. I'm too lazy to find the site with the radar that shows how it's moving.

Today lunch was a good half pint of cocktail [sign in to see URL] yellow [sign in to see URL] cottage cheese. I just picked another half pint to add to the red ones. Those things are good.

I think we've figured [sign in to see URL] DD [sign in to see URL] stuff about the big tomatoes and soil PH. This should help a lot.

Buenos dias!

Coffee, Tanya.

It's 79 and partly cloudy, but I see a lot of sunlight out the back windows. Mid to upper 80s today. I sure have been liking it NOT getting to the 90s for a while now!

Doctor appointment after lunch, haircut tomorrow and what am I doing for supper? I think maybe fish.

I have a hair cut appointment later, but nothing else on the agenda.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Good morning, all. It’s another warm and muggy day in these parts, typical for this time of the year. Aidan and Eva are here and about to go in the pool. I’m satisfied to stay in the cool air conditioned house for the moment. If I decide to do any outdoor work it will be this evening. The regular mowing will hold until this weekend.

I put off making the pasta I described yesterday until tonight. I’m looking forward to that but apart from that I have no plans. A day of reading and writing is looking like the likely scenario.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

You create the best sounding, and I'm sure delicious pasta meals.

Our own little Time Zone firecracker! emoticon

Well, it was another crappy night for sleep and I'm feeling it. It's Brett's day off, and we've managed to already run four errands this morning -- including to a family fruit/vegetable stand that started summer operations Saturday. We came home with 15 ears of corn, 2 green peppers (hello, stuffed peppers!), and 1 red pepper (hello, sausage and egg casserole!).

We're taking Mom for her heart ultrasound (routine) and have three other errands we NEED her to do.... But it seems that we can never do more than one thing each day. So we're going to push to do it all. We've got the wheelchair, so she doesn't even need to walk at all. Hopefully that will get us through everything. Please think a good thought if you can....

Started into editing the dissertation yesterday, but kept getting interrupted every 15 minutes with a half dozen people needing ten dozen things, so I gave up. Maybe tonight I'll get a block of time to concentrate.

A friend and I were talking at lunch, and she said her parents ran a small grocery. People would come in and ask him the price of a dozen eggs. He'd get a twinkle in his eye and tell them the eggs were 10 for $1. And to a person, they'd look at him seriously and say, "Yeah, but how much for a DOZEN?" LOL.... I told her that if it were me, I would have told them, "Just for you, I'm going to give you the SPECIAL price of a dozen for $[sign in to see URL]!" emoticon See if they ever figure it out....

Cooter, I'm too lazy to scroll back through all these posts to see what you said you paid for Rainier cherries. I just bought some at $[sign in to see URL] per pound. Didn't you pay WAY less than that?

Same thing happens with local apples. We pay far higher prices than do the places we ship them.

Uh oh....

I'm just going to leave this Kroger ad sitting on the bar for you, Robbie, while I quietly sit over in the corner....

Our local Kroger has Rainier cherries on sale for $[sign in to see URL] a pound this week with a Kroger card....

I could probably get them and pay for shipping cheaper than $[sign in to see URL] a pound. Not fair!

(But we get the same thing with pork products costing a lot more here than in other states we ship them out to, too....)

Kroger had than on sale for $[sign in to see URL] a lb. and the Bings for $[sign in to see URL]. Those are usually $[sign in to see URL] a lb. and the Raniers about $4 a lb. I don't know if there are any Raniers left in town.

I have settled on Cupcake for my Chardonnay and Pinot noir. Affordable and very nice. I still keep Crane Lake for cab and pinot grigio.

Cupcake Chardonnay is outstanding. Unfortunately, my tummy won't let me have Pinot Noir or any other red wine.

Good morning, all. We have 57F and blue skies, heading for a forecast high of 77F. Sounds good to me.

This morning some workmen are coming to install a vent in my garage to help equalize air pressure. It is believed, by both the plumbing company and the heating company, that my garage is tightly-enough sealed that when I open the garage door it makes a *whoosh* that sucks the air around my water tank's pilot light enough to blow it out. I sure hope this cures it.

Meanwhile, Tanya, please fortify me with coffee.
