Re: The Rumpus Room
Well, rats. We had some fairly nice thunder, but where's the rain?
EDIT: Holy cats, it arrived!

Buon giorno!
Coffee, Tanya.
It's 73 and overcast this morning with a 40% chance of more boomers. We got a flood for a short time yesterday. We could do without rain for a while.
I'm going to do a drunk chicken with fresh asparagus in the smoker for supper tonight. The pasta last night was really good.
I've done laundry doing the week but tomorrow is change bed day and launder those sheets.

Re: Buon giorno!
Good morning, all. It’s a typical summertime morning here today. We had a good walk before the temperature started climbing and managed to work up a good, purifying sweat in the process. It made the shower that much better.
I’m doing the first real test of the washing machine repair as I type. It worked fine when I ran it through the cycle yesterday, but I did it without any clothes in it. This morning is the real test. It should be fine, he said hopefully.
Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Good morning, all. We got rats and holy cats raining down on us overnight, and we still have a chance of sprinkles today. Right now it's overcast with 62F and we're supposed to top out at 71F.
Cooter and Lis, you both sound very industrious. My laundry day is Sunday, so I'll just admire you two today.
Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room
The washer worked perfectly and there was no flood. I’d call that a success. 🙂 Now back to doing nothing.

It’s sunny and 75F here, but they say another heat wave is on its way. I should do chores.

Re: The Rumpus Room
I haven't been that [sign in to see URL]. DD and I will do a few things. Hendrick got 3 out of 4 in the first two rows, Lis. They and Chevy need a win badly.
DD pulled the tomato plants into the garage yesterday to protect them from the weather. There's nothing going on much right now, but I think we'll let them dry out some.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Yay, Brick!!! Congrats on your successful washer repair!
I'm with you on the coming heat wave, Birdz. We actually went down to 58 last night! Amazing! It's only 76 in the "heat" of the day today. But we'll be back into heat warnings by the middle of the week....
My guys mostly look like they qualified badly, Cooter. Hopefully an early "big one" doesn't take them all out before they can get to the front. But gotta think good thoughts for the Hendrick cars.

Hola!
Coffee, Tanya.
It's 72 headed for the low 80s without much chance of rain, although I do see a few small showers on the radar.
We're having a friend of DD's over for burgers while his !@#$ girlfriend is out of town. He does the sound for one of the local bar's that has live music five nights a week. He'll be happy to get some free food.
DD's Mom and the lady who does our cleaning are coming down to help DD get her room and clothes straight.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Good morning, all. We have blue skies and 55F, heading for a forecast high of 75F. Goldilocks weather.
Friday night dinner with my kids was postponed to tonight because Dave was broadcasting live all night Friday night from Relay for Life, then was zonked Saturday night as a result. It will be good to see them.
Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, nothing much on the To-Do List other than laundry.
Coffee, please, Tanya.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Enjoy your delayed dinner with your kids, Robbie. How cool that they do live broadcasting there!
Wow, Cooter.... How nice of them to help DD (and you!) out with straightening her room! Hope it makes a nice difference for both of you.
I have the whole day off today.... I think I'll help Mom get some things straightened up and prepared for the week, if she's up for it.

Re: The Rumpus Room
My weekend guests left this morning in hopes of beating the Sunday-after-the-holiday-weekend traffic out on I-5 and 405. Gorgeous day for it, and for my last walk with them and their dogs on my grassy path. Great weekend of live conversation (as contrasted with cyberspace conversation). My voice is almost gone from misuse. My cat is recovering from the departure of the dogs.

Re: The Rumpus Room
So glad you had a wonderful time, Belle!
I have succeeded in clearing email, working on a couple of online projects for people, talking with you good people, and taking a two-hour nap. LOVE days off....

Re: The Rumpus Room
This has just been one of those "old man" days as I call them. Little energy, don't feel very good but not much you can stick your finger on, and just the general blahs. My typing is terrible. I may get DD to cook.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Enjoy your dinner, Robbie. Sandy made home made individual pizzas tonight and we had them with a small antipasto salad. Not bad
Glad you enjoyed your company, Belle. Sounds like a good time was had by all.
I hope you’re enjoying some time off, Lis.
Every now and then I have a day like you describe, Cooter. just blah, hope it passes quickly
Tomorrow is our day to walk. After that my plan is to add some alkalinity and calcium to the pool. After that I’ll check the ph value. It’s low but I can’t adjust it until I get the alkalinity right. I plan on working on that right after the walk. There is shade on the pool deck at that time of the morning and the first phase will take only a few minutes. I have a few other light things I could put on my list but I’ll play it by it by ear. Nothing is pressing so I’ll likely just peck away at it.

Tough day, but I'm better. I managed to pitch in with some of the stuff this afternoon. DD and I have some stuff to work on tomorrow and hopefully it won't rain.

Re: The Rumpus Room
Went grocery shopping. DH asked for some meats to smoke but they had no baby back ribs, so I didn’t get anything. My back was hurting Hen I got home, so I nuked the heating pad and sat with it for a while. Then I posted a shout out on Facebook for the auto repair place that fixed my car AC. They got the car back to me the same day, even though I dropped it off around lunchtime. They deserve a good word, and they do have a good reputation. It probably doesn’t hurt me that the father/FIL of the owners lives across the street from me and is good friends with DH.

3:30 am and I STILL can't sleep....
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr....
Hooray for your auto repair place, Birdz! Thanks for alerting other folks to the good places!
Glad you're doing better, Cooter.
Hope the pecking away is easy, Brick.
Did get all caught up on email and projects for an organization. Even got a bunch of stuff watched and cleared them out of the DVR. Got an email tonight from the guy sending me his dissertation that he'll be delayed a bit, [sign in to see URL], I could be sleeping!!! ARGH!!!
