( News) - Powerful GOP Rep. Jim Jordan accused of turning blind eye to sexual abuse as Ohio State wrestling coach

Rep. Jim Jordan, the powerful Republican congressman from Ohio, is being accused by former wrestlers he coached more than two decades ago at Ohio State University of failing to stop the team doctor from molesting them and other students. The university announced in April that it was investigating accusations that Dr. Richard Strauss, who died in 2005, abused team members when he was the team doctor from the mid-1970s to late 1990s.

Jordan, who was assistant wrestling coach at the university from 1986 to 1994, has repeatedly said he knew nothing of the abuse until former students began speaking out this spring. His denials, however, have been met with skepticism and anger from some former members of the wrestling team.

Three former wrestlers told NBC News that it was common knowledge that Strauss showered regularly with the students and inappropriately touched them during appointments, and said it would have been impossible for Jordan to be unaware; one wrestler said he told Jordan directly about the abuse.

Former head coach Russ Hellickson, Jordan's mentor, said in a recent video — made by Mike DiSabato, a former wrestler — that Hellickson had told Strauss that he was being too "hands on” with students. DiSabato, whose allegations against Strauss prompted Ohio State to open its investigation, called Jordan a “liar.” “I considered Jim Jordan a friend,” DiSabato said. “But at the end of the day, he is absolutely lying if he says he doesn’t know what was going on.”

DiSabato said he reached out to Jordan this year, before going to the university, to tell Jordan that he planned to go public with his allegations. Jordan told him to “please leave me out of it,” DiSabato said. “He asked me not to get him involved.”

(]CNN) - Trump mocks #MeToo movement in riff on Elizabeth Warren's heritage during Montana rally

President Donald Trump on Thursday mocked the #MeToo movement as he repeatedly attacked Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren over her heritage, said Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters had an I.Q. in the "mid-60s," and made thinly-veiled swipes at fellow Republicans John McCain and George H.W. Bush, who are both in ailing health....

But his most extended attack was aimed at Warren, a Democrat he has long targeted for claiming that she is part Native American and derisively nicknamed "Pocahontas," after the 17th century historical figure. On Thursday, Trump mocked people who called on him to apologize for the remark and sarcastically apologized to the historic figure. "I want to apologize. Pocahontas, I apologize to you. I apologize to you. To you I apologize," he said. "To the fake Pocahontas, I won't apologize."

He went on to suggest that, should Warren win the Democratic nomination in 2020 and they were to debate, he would toss an ancestry test to her and dare her to take it. In doing so, he made light of the #MeToo movement. "We'll take that little kit and say, we have to go it gently because we are in the Me Too generation, and we will very gently take that kit, slowly toss it" to her, Trump said, adding that he would offer $1 million to charity if she took the test and it "shows you are an Indian." "I have a feeling she will say no," he added.

In a tweet following his speech, Warren said, "Hey, @realDonaldTrump: While you obsess over my genes, your Admin is conducting DNA tests on little kids because you ripped them from their mamas & you are too incompetent to reunite them in time to meet a court order. Maybe you should focus on fixing the lives you're destroying."

( News) - More Ohio State wrestlers say Rep. Jim Jordan knew about sexual abuse when he was coach

More former Ohio State University wrestlers have come forward to contradict Rep. Jim Jordan’s claim that he had no idea the wrestling team doctor was molesting athletes.

One of the wrestlers, Shawn Dailey, said he was groped half a dozen times by Dr. Richard Strauss in the mid-1990s, when Jordan was the assistant wrestling coach. Dailey said he was too embarrassed to report the abuse directly to Jordan at the time, but he said Jordan took part in conversations where Strauss' abuse of many other team members came up.

"I participated with Jimmy and the other wrestlers in locker-room talk about Strauss. We all did
," Dailey, 43, told NBC News, referring to Jordan. "It was very common knowledge in the locker room that if you went to Dr. Strauss for anything, you would have to pull your pants down.”

Dailey corroborated the account of one of those wrestlers, Dunyasha Yetts, who told NBC News that Yetts had protested to Jordan and head coach Russ Hellickson after Strauss tried to pull down his wrestling shorts when Yetts went to see him for a thumb injury.

"Dunyasha comes back and tells Jimmy, ‘Seriously, why do I have to pull down my pants for a thumb injury?’" Dailey recalled. "Jimmy said something to the extent of, ‘If he tried that with me, I would kill him.'"

Calling Jordan “a close friend,” Dailey said he is a Republican and that he contributed to the powerful Ohio congressman’s first political campaign for state representative in 1994.

“What happened drove me out of the sport,” said Dailey, a married father of two who works as a fundraiser for an Ohio college. “So I was surprised to hear Jim say that he knew nothing about it."

If Jordan's "close friends" are insisting that Jordan knew about it, that sounds pretty conclusive....

(]CBS News) - Democratic lawmaker says Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill groped her

An Indiana lawmaker at the center of groping allegations lodged against Republican Attorney General Curtis Hill has come forward. Democratic state Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon published her own account of the alleged March 15 incident, which she says occurred at an Indianapolis bar, in The (Northwest Indiana) Times newspaper.

She said Hill leaned toward her, put his hand on her back, slid it down and grabbed her buttocks. The Munster lawmaker said she told Hill to "back off," but he approached her again later in the night, put his hand on her back and said: "That skin. That back."

Candelaria Reardon called on all Indiana residents of "good will" to demand Hill's resignation. She said she is speaking out now to support other women who have accused Hill of groping them that night. "As I continue to deal with the harm perpetrated by Indiana's top law enforcement official, I must also deal with the reality that there is no process by which Curtis Hill, an independently elected official can be held accountable," she wrote. "No censure. No recall. Not even a slap on the hand. I speak out now, to support the other victims of Attorney General Curtis Hill, who have not yet found their voice," she added.

Hill said Friday he will not step down, despite a surge of public officials from both parties calling for the Republican to resign. The former Elkhart County prosecutor said in a defiant statement posted to Twitter Friday afternoon that he has been "falsely accused of some of the same crimes I spent 28 years prosecuting." He called for a "thorough investigation" into the allegations against him and called them "vicious and false." Hill also said an investigation of his conduct by the Indiana Inspector General's office would not be a "fair and independent" investigation.

Earlier Friday, Indiana's government watchdog said her office is investigating claims that Hill drunkenly groped several women at the bar. Inspector General Lori Torres said Republican and Democratic leaders asked her to launch an investigation, which she said would be a "full and fair review." Any findings by Torres could lead to criminal charges against him, if the allegations are substantiated. Democratic and Republican leaders both said they believe the allegations are credible.

The claims made against Hill were included in a confidential legislative memo that was leaked to media outlets earlier this week. The memo said four women accused Hill of inappropriate touching, including a lawmaker who said he groped her after she had told him to back off for touching her moments earlier.

Top Republican leaders in the Indiana Statehouse have called for Hill to resign after a week of negative stories drawing into question their handling of groping allegations against him.

Notice that Indiana Republican leaders said and did NOTHING to this man? Until the media started questioning their HANDLING of the case. Once the heat was on THEM, Hill is a hot potato. Interesting how that happens....

Trump Defends Jim Jordan Over Ohio State Abuse Allegations
The powerful GOP congressman has been accused of not taking action against alleged sexual abuse that occurred when he coached wrestling at the school.

By Marina Fang

President Donald Trump on Thursday defended Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who at least five wrestlers have claimed turned a blind eye to sexual abuse while he was coaching at Ohio State University.

“I don’t believe them at all,” he told reporters on Air Force One, before a raucous campaign rally in Montana. “I believe him. I believe him 100 percent. No question in my mind.”

The president praised Jordan ― a Trump ally and co-founder of the powerful, conservative House Freedom Caucus ― calling him “an outstanding man.”

Former wrestlers have accused their team doctor from the time of sexual abuse in the mid-’90s. Five former wrestlers also say Jordan, who served as an assistant wrestling coach from 1986 to 1994, knew about the abuse but did nothing, NBC News and The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Jordan has denied the claims.

“It’s absolutely untrue the things that have been said about me. If there had been any reports of abuse I would have reported it,” Jordan said Thursday.

Trump, who has faced his own sexual misconduct allegations from at least 20 women, also joked about the Me Too movement during Thursday night’s rally.

Earlier that day, the White House officially announced that Trump hired former Fox News Co-President Bill Shine as his deputy chief of staff for communications. Shine resigned from Trump’s favorite news network after allegations that he tried to cover up sexual harassment involving executives at the cable giant.

The president frequently casts doubt on sexual misconduct allegations and denigrates accusers. Last fall, he stood by former Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore, who was accused of sexually harassing or assaulting nearly 10 women, some when they were children.

During his presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly claimed that his accusers were lying — by mocking their physical appearance.

Of COURSE he does. Because the abusers always believe each other, and the victims are the real abusers. Got it.

Jim Jordan pretends to be a man of principle, but his conduct as a Congressman is nothing less than disgraceful. I would not be at all surprised to learn that, in fact, he did turn a blind eye to the disgusting conduct that was going on in the next room. And I’m not at all surprised that our abuser-in-chief believes him 100%. What a sad commentary.

Boston Beauty Queen Gives Back Crown Over #MeToo Joke
She is a sexual assault survivor herself

By Danielle Waugh

Maude Gorman has resigned as Miss Plymouth County for the Miss Massachusetts Miss America Organization after a pageant emcee made a joke about the #MeToo movement on stage.

"I really felt betrayed," Gorman said. She was competing at the Miss Massachusetts pageant last week and was backstage when the emcee performed the controversial skit.

In a video first reported by the Observer, the host acts out a skit with someone portraying the role of God. She asks why Miss America would get rid of the swimsuit competition, when the person portraying God holds up a sign that says#MeToo and the crowd laughs and cheers.

"To mock a movement that has empowered survivors to stand up is inappropriate, and especially a women's empowerment organization, should be unacceptable," said Gorman.

She is a sexual assault survivor herself, and has become a fierce advocate for other survivors.

The Miss Massachusetts organization posted an apology on its Facebook page, saying the skit was not in the script and not approved by the board. According to the post, the organization will screen skits going forward.

"I think there needs to be more action taken, and that's why I'm speaking up," said Gorman.

She is in the process of giving back her crown and sash, and said a Plymouth County runner-up will most likely take over her title.

OH... OK.

Harvey Weinstein Speaks: 'Everyone' Trades Sex for Film Roles
The disgraced Hollywood mega-producer admitted he offered roles for sex, but said the ‘casting couch’ method was not exclusive to him.

Julia Arciga

Months after the first allegations of sexual harassment, abuse, and rape published in The New York Times and the New Yorker, disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has spoken.

“Yes, I did offer them acting jobs in exchange for sex, but so did and still does everyone,” he told The Spectator in an interview published Friday.

“But I never, ever forced myself on a single woman.”

Weinstein was accused by more than 20 women of misconduct ranging from uncomfortable advances to using his immense power to leverage sex out of young actresses. The movie titan seemed to have a modus operandi—invite budding actresses to his hotel room for a reading or audition, emerge from the shower in his bathrobe, and ask for a massage or pressure them to perform sex acts. Some of the more severe allegations say he forced himself onto women and raped them.

A New York grand jury indicted Weinstein in late May on rape and sex crime charges after he turned himself into police. Weinstein was taken in for “alleged sex attacks in Manhattan in 2004 and 2013,” Page Six reported. According to Deadline, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

In the interview conducted by notorious far-right author Taki Theodoracopulos, Weinstein described himself as a “poor, ugly, Jewish” kid when he was young, and said he had “to fight all my life to get somewhere.” He seemingly justified his predatory behavior by noting how “No girl looked at me until I made it big in Hollywood.”

Later on Friday, Weinstein's lawyer Benjamin Brafman told Entertainment Weekly that he “never said anything about trading movie roles for sexual favors. You have my word that Harvey did not say that.”

Theodoracopulos also released a statement through Brafman, saying that he “may have misrepresented Harvey Weinstein’s conversation with me in New York last month. It was my mistake.” Both Brafman and Theodoracopulos retroactively insisted that the conversation was a “social visit” rather than a formal interview.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest names have been ...

And now you're a RICH, ugly person as an adult. Nasty, disgusting adult.

As my mom always said, "If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you jump, too?"

You're responsible for your own behavior, Harvey. Period.

SERVER OF JUSTICE: Video shows waitress taking down butt-grabbing customer

A male customer at a Georgia restaurant probably didn’t expect any repercussions when he groped the waitress.

Emilia Holden, who works at Vinni Van Go-Go’s in Savannah, Ga., had just taken a customer’s order and was putting away a menu when an unidentified man wearing a red shirt walked by her and allegedly grabbed her butt.

The restaurant’s surveillance camera captured the incident, which showed an enraged Holden grabbing the man by the back of his collar and placing him in a manoeuvre that resembled Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s WWE finishing move, the Rock Bottom.

The pervert is then slammed hard against the wall before his body crumples on a nearby chair. Holden is then seen talking smack to the man.

“I just did what I felt was best, I took the guy down and had my co-workers call the police,” the woman said in an interview with LADBible. “As soon as the cops saw the CCTV footage, they immediately arrested the man. He sat in jail until Monday so in my opinion, he got what he deserved.

The sexual assault took place June 30, the Savannah Morning News reported. The man involved in the alleged groping, 31-year-old Ryan Cherwinski of Palm Beach, Fla., was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

While the incident took place in late June, the security footage went viral and made the front page of Reddit, which garnered an 87% in upvotes. Holden’s actions were met with praise on the social news aggregation site.

“She is my new hero,” wrote one user.

“So she’s a server….of justice,” chimed another.

(]CNN) - More than 100 former students allege sexual misconduct by Ohio State University doctor

More than 100 former Ohio State University students have reported firsthand accounts of sexual misconduct by a school doctor, the university said in a statement Friday.

Those students have been interviewed as part of the investigation into allegations against the late Richard Strauss, who died in 2005. "We are grateful to those who have come forward and remain deeply concerned for anyone who may have been affected by Dr. Strauss' actions," said OSU President Michael V. Drake. "We remain steadfastly committed to uncovering the truth."

The university announced in April that it is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct by Strauss. The school has hired a law firm, Perkins Coie, to look into the claims made by former male athletes on 14 sports teams.
