Sarah Huckabee Sanders is at the podium....

She's being extremely defensive about repeated questions about why she's making statements that aren't true....

She keeps refusing to answer the questions about why she said Trump didn't write the memo, when his attorneys now admit he did....

She has repeatedly claimed that she works "very hard every day" to bring the media "accurate" information.

Then she went off. She claimed that HER reputation was better than the media's.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm....

Sarah Sanders refused again on Tuesday to correct her August statement that President Trump wasn't involved in drafting a misleading statement about his son's meeting with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower.

"I'm not going to go into detail and go into a back and forth. I know that you guys would love to engage on matters of conversations between the special counsel and the outside counsel, but we purposefully" remain separate from special counsel matters, the press secretary said when pressed by CNN's Pamela Brown.

A day earlier, Sanders referred questions on the matter to the President's outside counsel. The President's lawyer did respond, saying Trump did dictate the statement. Rudy Giuliani later said it was a mistake to say he didn't.

But Sanders insisted she remain "walled off" from the outside counsel's work. "I'm not going to get into back and forth on that," she said. "I think you all know I'm an honest person," she added.


No, Sarah, we don't. In fact, we have an ABUNDANCE of evidence that you are NOT an honest person.

Here's a clue-by-four for ya, Sarah. An HONEST person admits when she makes a mistake. An HONEST person corrects misinformation when she's made aware of it. An HONEST person admits that when dishonest information has been given to her, and she has relayed it to the press, she'll place the responsibility for the disinformation where it belongs.

She doesn't insist she did nothing wrong and then attack the press for asking how they're supposed to believe ANYTHING she or Trump say.

Me either. It sure has looked like Sessions is living on borrowed time. Then again it could be just Trump being Trump. It can be hard to tell.

It hadn't occurred to me, either, Robbie. I thought you'd pick right up on that one.

Susie, I agree that several people are writing them. You can see definite style and substance differences. Some are policy-oriented. Some are behind-the-scenes drama-oriented. And some are pure snark. There were a lot of accusations that these were coming from Steve Bannon early on, but I never believed that. Even with him gone, inside information (much of it later confirmed) continues to come out.

Cooter, I think you're right that Sessions is living on borrowed time. I had dinner with friends tonight, and all three had seen (on different networks) stories that Trump refuses to allow anyone to even utter Sessions' name in the White House. They say he's furious....

A reporter was just on Chris Hayes, sharing some interesting moments she had at work today....

Apparently some top aides to Scott Pruitt resigned today because of the non-stop corruption that is going on at the EPA.

A reporter for The Atlantic called the press office at the EPA, asking whether that official could confirm the story that the EPA staff members had quit.

The reporter said the press official screamed at her over the phone and called her "a piece of trash."

Gee. Way to make friends with the press....

(]CNN) - No, Sarah Sanders, reporters aren't trying to 'tear' you down. They want you to do your job.

"Once again, I don't know how many times I have to address this, but I work every single day to give you accurate and up-to-date information. And I'm going to continue to do that. Frankly, I think my credibility is probably higher than the media's. And I think that, in large part, that's because you guys spend more of your time focused on attacking the President instead of reporting the news. I think that if you spent a little bit more time reporting the news instead of trying to tear me down, you might actually see that we're working hard trying to provide you good information and trying to provide that same good information to the American people."

Heavens, how many lies are in that statement alone???

(]CNN) - Charles Krauthammer says he has 'only a few weeks left to live'

Charles Krauthammer, the famed conservative columnist, informed readers on Friday that he is confronting an aggressive form of cancer. "My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live," he wrote.

Krauthammer shared the devastating news in a short, matter-of-fact note on the website of the Washington Post, where he has been a columnist since 1984. "I leave this life with no regrets," he wrote in the farewell message. "It was a wonderful life -- full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living. I am sad to leave, but I leave with the knowledge that I lived the life that I intended."

Krauthammer was also a longtime commentator on Fox News.

(]CNN) - After meeting with North Korean dictator, Trump calls press America's 'biggest enemy'

Hours after returning from a trip where he lavished praise on one of the world's worst dictators, President Trump declared that America's biggest enemy is... "fake news." He singled out NBC and CNN in his angry tweet on Wednesday.

Trump frequently portrays the news media as one of his enemies, but rarely has he been this blunt about it. Wednesday's tweet harkens back to February 2017, when he called several news outlets "the enemy of the American People!"

He was roundly criticized back then. This time, there's been a somewhat more muted reaction, perhaps because he is repeating himself. But it's important to recognize just how extreme this rhetoric is. No modern American president has publicly spoken this way about the press.

Richard Nixon sometimes talked this way, but only in private. "Never forget, the press is the enemy. The press is the enemy. The press is the enemy," Nixon told his advisors, according to Oval Office recordings.

Trump relishes the fight. Time and time again, he seizes us-versus-them opportunities, casting the media as an opponent that must be defeated. He says he likes some reporters, but labels others as "dishonest" examples of "fake news."

Wednesday's tweet was apparently provoked by news coverage of Trump's summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. "So funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN," he wrote. "They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea. 500 days ago they would have 'begged' for this deal -- looked like war would break out. Our Country's biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools!"


Promulgated? Oh, yeah, THAT word popped directly from Trump's fingers. Not....

If Trump can't figure out who the enemy is, he SURELY should not have access to the nuclear codes....

While the Singapore summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sparked a range of emotions, one moment, in particular, elicited a reaction from one MSNBC panel that you don't expect from nuclear weapons negotiations: outbursts of laughter.

On the show "Deadline: White House," host Nicolle Wallace could barely keep it together while listening to comments Trump made after the meeting about North Korea's real estate prospects.

"They have great beaches," Trump said of the autocratic regime. "You see that whenever they're exploding their cannons into the ocean, right? I said, 'Boy, look at that! Wouldn't that make a great condo!' And I explained, I said, you know, 'Instead of doing that, you could have the greatest hotels in the world.' Think of it from a real estate perspective!"

"I can't! Stop, come out," Wallace said to the control room. She was so stunned by the video — especially by the phrase "exploding the cannons" — that she had them play it again.

"So when they're testing their ICBMs, I'm thinking: 'What a spot! It could be like Boca!" she said. "What is that? What is wrong with him?"
