Coffee, Tanya.

It's 66 and batshit crazy here this morning as Shadow has found some kitty krack or something. This is too early for me to be up with not enough sleep. I just haven't been sleeping well lately. Tonight it was my left knee waking me up and keeping me awake. No way can I make it without a nap.

It looks like we're going to have rain at times during the day and evening. We've got some more stuff to plant but not if it's raining.

Good morning, all. We have 53F under cloudy skies, heading for a high of 64F under sunny skies. Evidently, like yesterday, the clouds are expected to burn off mid-day.

Dave and I replaced the front yard hose yesterday with one of those flexible ones. It is, indeed, much lighter weight and much easier for me to handle. Hooray! Today I'm going to go back to Home Despot and get a couple more to replace the back yard hoses.

Brick, I envy your weather all winter, but about now I stop. When my in-laws lived in St Pete Beach I would just wilt in the heat and humidity when we visited there.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Shadow and I got a nice nap in. It's only supposed to get to the 70s today, which I assume is where we are now. I'm cool in the house. I may have to put some long pants on.

I'm considering making New England Clam Chowdah for lunch. I do a very good job with it.

This is definitely not my favorite time of the year. Thankfully, I don’t have to be working in it every day. And when I do go out to work, I can do it in the relative cool of the mornings and evenings. Other than that, thank God for air conditioning.

Congratulations on your young graduates, Brick. It happens so fast, doesn't it? I'm so glad you'll be able to go to both ceremonies. emoticon

Glad you were able to get a nice nap, Cooter. We're already up to 80, windy, with possible storms this afternoon....

So glad you enjoy your new hose, Robbie! Hopefully having the lighter ones in the back yard will help a lot. emoticon

I have to tell you.... Cameron's 21st birthday was Tuesday. The guys at work all took him out to a pub to celebrate. Mr. Responsible asked if the shop boss would follow him home from work to park his car, and then serve as his designated driver for the evening, since he didn't know how alcohol would affect him. [sign in to see URL] bought him a shot of whiskey to start. He told me that they explained to him that he had to drink it all at once, rather than sipping it (LOL!). I asked him what he thought. He said he couldn't feel his esophagus for several minutes! *G* He didn't like beer. Then he got something (you'll probably know what it is). There was a cranberry one, and there was a raspberry one. Started with an L. Someone told me it's some kind of beer that doesn't have hops. He really liked that. But that was enough.... emoticon

Cameron had never had a drink of anything alcoholic before this?

No, Robbie. Alcohol virgin. He's very much a rule-oriented person. The rules are the rules, and he follows them to a T. Andrew, on the other hand, has admitted to tasting and smoking rarely. I'm disappointed, but I got over it.

Cooter, it was Labatt. Not a clue why the name came back to me. Looks like they're Canadian?

LaBatt Blue is a good Canadian pilsner. I've always liked it since I was in the AF.

CT and Bone Scans were both good. I still see Doc on Monday.

I'd say it's a good introductory beer. It has a little less alcohol strength than some other beers, and it doesn't have a real strong "beer-y" taste. At least that's how I remember it. I haven't had it in years.

Good news! But I keep hoping somebody is going to do something about your near-constant leg pain.

Good news about your scans, Cooter.

Good morning, all. We're expecting another rainy afternoon. Our pattern now includes afternoon rains with a 50% chance every day. It is still welcome. I am going to try to do some mowing and trimming relatively early this morning. I’ll have to see if it’s dry enough after coffee. If it isn’t it will have to be put on hold again. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings but at some point I’m going to do it. I can still wait for a day or two more without the yards looking shaggy.

Thanks, Lis. We're looking forward to the graduations on Monday. Both of the boys have done really well academically which makes it all the more an enjoyable prospect.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

Bonjour!

Coffee, Tanya.

Tough night. Took Melatonin and a Valerian root prior to going to bed but wound up getting up and taking a sleeping pill. Woke up sneezing and wheezing and took the mask off since I'd made 5.5 hours. Later took another sleeping pill and wound up putting the mask back on. Got two more hours with it then called it a night so I could blow my nose. Stayed in bed a while and made myself get up and feed the cat.

I have winter house clothes on and intend to leave it that way unless I feel better. I'll make some New England clam chowdah later because that sounds better than chicken which is supper. Luckily I sent DD to run errands yesterday and had her get a four pack of Puffs.

Good morning, all. We have 54F under cloudy skies, heading for a forecast high of 65F. We have a chance of rain showers noon-ish.

I think we're having Friday night dinner as usual. My daughter-in-law's daughter is arriving in town from Oregon sometime this evening, so things are a bit up in the air.

I'm going to get some peat to put on top of the lawn seeds I put over the bare spots to see if that will help hold in the moisture when I water. My determination to have a nice lawn is certainly turning out to be a pain.

Coffee, please, Tanya.

A Lisberry margarita, please, on the rapid infuser. I'll be lying over here in a booth under a warm blanket.

I've never had sinuses run like this. Mostly the right one. I have to keep Puffs at hand.

I don't feel quite as bad as I did this morning. If I feel this good in the AM I'll go pick up some Mucinex.

Good news, Cooter on your scans.

Yesterday I had a bit of a cough and a few sniffles, but otherwise felt fine. So I went for my weekly personal training.

When it was over, I felt like a wet dishrag and went home and crashed. I still feel like crap, and I've slept a lot the past day.

I've got a good head cold. I feel better overall than I did this morning but nothing will dry up my sinuses. No CPAP mask tonight with this runny nose.

Re: The Rumpus Room

Good morning all. I’ll have a cup of your strongest black coffee please. Well i am still here on the iowa side of the pond. And i amm suffering with a monumental case of jet lag. It is currently 58 degrees F here on the prairie. talked to my son-in-law yesterday. And he said it is raining and will be for the next couple of days.

I hope everyone is doing well, healthwise. As well as every other aspect of your personal lives. I am as fine as frog hair. Other than old age catching up with me in the form of osteo arthritis. And of course I continue to have the lingering issues related to my relapsing MS. But thanks to the wonders of Pharmicudical chemistry and the efforts of some mad physical therapists in two continents,, those issues are minimized.

Well we had a wonderful retirement party for Ms Rebeka. And the biggest surprise of all was that our son actually came down off his New Mexico mountain top, and made the trip to Iowa for his mom’s retirement. Of course his sisters and i spent some time attempting to convice the boy to relocate to Europe. Not certain we were very successful. But maybe we planted a seed or two. And as i told him — he has a PhD in Computer Science; dual American and Italian (bringing with it the ability to live and work anywhere in the EU) citizenship; fluency in English, and Italian as well as a strong conversational level grasp of Czech and German. Basically the boy can write his own ticket. But we will see.

Hawk! I feel as if we have you back home, although I know it's temporary. After recovering from her retirement party, Ms. Rebeka will have time to start being an Italian lady, won't she? Thank goodness for Pharmimedical chemistry. You may come close to living forever, and feeling good while doing it.

How long will you be here?

New Mexico is the Land of Enchantment. It's hard to get anyone to come down from there.

Cafe', Tanya.

It's 68 and will be mostly sunny once the sun gets over the trees. The nighttime Theraflu did the trick along with one of my sleeping pills. My nose didn't run during the night and I got a decent night's sleep. Not as much as I suspect I need, but I won't quibble. We'll see how my sinuses fair.

I've got a top round roast and I need to put in the slow cooker. I'll have to check the freezers for veggies. I was thinking about what I might have while lounging in bed with Shadow, and I think I can make it work OK without getting out.

DD was not feeling well in the evening and went to bed early. Hopefully she won't catch this.
